Interesting read.

and if it's a link you wouldn't post it why?

Very advanced super paper? With JavaScript I would assume nearly all would have some kind of support for it. I like Netbeans, however it's one of many options.

Has mccodes gone up since I last looked? v1 - free, v2 - $100, v2.5 $120? NWE has a fair amount of game features for only $100, and there are a fair few free options if you're willing to put the time in. As said above I doubt you will get a well made custom game (never mind established with any users) for $200, but you can buy a pre-made engine, a relativity cheap template, and set it up yourself.

My recent experience with count

If I have never worked with someone before, and had no recommendations from others about the freelancer I was dealing with then I would probably expect to see something before putting any sizable amount of money down as well. As for paypal's protection (https://cms.paypal.com/al/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/UserAgreement_full) - In this case it's more then possible he has simply been scammed in the past. -
I can’t remember where from, however I am fairly sure the template is one you can buy (for around $25 if I remember correctly). Many people buy cheap templates for their sites when they open to save money at the start of a sites life. I have not logged in, however the template does not automatically make the site a clone or a backup.

Well I do agree with Dayo (to a point) it’s still nice to see a positive step towards a finished product after so long. I do however have to ask one question; are you starting the development again, and if so, do you have a clear timeline this time around?

As a framework what would you say it's missing because of this?

Looking for a web developer in or around East Sussex, UK.

I understand why you doubt you would find anyone on here. If you’re looking for a local professional you’re better off posting on job search sites or maybe even placing the job in a local paper. To be honest, even if there are local people on here, I doubt anyone will E-mail a CV with such a small amount of information. Salary, basic qualifications you expect them to have (e.g. do they need a Zend certificate) are normally always stated in a job ad. -
Depending how wide spread this method is used throughout the game I would have to agree here. It would make class specific features much easier to add for you in the future.

We really don't need three posts telling him he could change what he is using.

This seems odd to me. PHP is not JAVA, Python or such languages. OOP is not something you have to use, and using it definitely does not make the difference between a good or bad program. If you don’t like the way it’s done that is fair enough. There are things in NWE I would never do in my own system, and although I have never seen any recent work from you (in fact just a few rather old mcc mods) the reasons you don’t like it seem to be just you holding a $100 script to a much higher standard then you should. The target audience of NWE was not high level developers. The way it’s done makes it easy for people to use. It would be bad business sense to sell something confusing to such an audience when past experience, both shown with mccodes users (and let’s face it mcc is very basic looking next to NWE at first glance... has been said by several people) and elsewhere, show people just walk away and do nothing with it. As far as spoon feeding people I am not exactly sure how you see NWE doing that. Don’t be childish. He asked you to be constructive rather than making generalized comments about the way the engine is done.

First off congratulation on your first year you have officially outlived 90% of new engines. :p I just have one small question; what are the plans for your second year?
-
Welcome back. :)

Fine it's originally a positive thread. At least people have a link to read it all themselves. :)
-
You're going to need to tell us more. Screenshots (as suggested), and maybe even a snippet of code to everyone what they are buying. You have not even given an idea on price... We have a board to inform people of problems like this so we don't get random posts accusing people of scamming others. The thread about him is positive - http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/41744-Alonzo-skooda

Fair enough, I haven't actually seen anyone ask, but then again my activity has been lower lately.

I doubt anyone is sitting at home waiting on v3 in order to create their next game. We all know the mccodes team's time frames on projects are massively underestimated or plainly lies. Take for example 2.5 has come out since they first announced v3 (if 07 is actually correct I didn't read the threads linked.) We don't need more threads with spam when, if we're being honest, I doubt any of you care about it. For those of you looking for other options look around there are so many I don't think it's worth listing them.

The card game created by yourself as well? If so as I said ensure it's ready with rules before starting anything on a computer. In other words; plan everything out. Good luck.
-
Would help. :P Congratulations on winning. :)
-
Sounds somewhat interesting, but one thing I would say it make sure the card game you are going to use on the main site has its rules and guidelines setup before going into the program. Assuming your using one already going ensure there are not legal issues in the way of such a website.

The problem with "Negatives would ruin the concept" is they are also the main reason for it. People who do poor work gain a poor reputation, and it's clear for all to see. As long as you can read the comments given along with that negative then what's the problem? Or a programmer who has poor customer service. I believe you can list by reputation under the "community -> members list", but there should be a much more clear way to view this. As I said it should be easy to read all the comments that came with the feedback. Also, I would say a basic sum up as we had under SMF. Have that displayed on every post. I would assume Vbulletin has some kind of addon available along those lines...

Depend... what type of birds? Some birds can’t fly. Oh sorry am I taking the fun out of it? :p

You can use the engine without a license hence why he is asking... Nothing wrong with asking for proof, and its easy enough assuming the numbers are small. If you’re in complete doubt or it looks faked PM one of mccodes team members or just don’t do the mod.
