I did cover the original question first. If they want it custom there would be no possibility of selling it, therefore it would not be worth the time. That is without specific circumstances e.g. building a portfolio etc...

Completely depends, but in relation to the original thread (that was converting a PSD => html, and integrating it for mcc) would I do it for $5? Probably not. Generally speaking would I sell something for $5; sure, because it’s always possible the market for multiple sales is there. Even ten sales would make something simple worth my time. Doing it for a friend is a completely different situation.

I'm not at all. I hardly speak to them, however I don't like ever thread were they are mentioned to turn into a one sided attack against a product. It doesn't mean I would recommend anyone buys it.

It’s been the biggest since before mccodes themselves paid for MWG.   Maybe that is true, but if you’re the first to do something then you’re one step ahead. No competition means more business for you.   Programmers were not “all trash” when mcc came out. The difference is more people are creating this kind of game, and attempting to copy successes stories of sites like torn. Just more people in this part of the web.   Why is that sad? If anything I’m amazed at how many people have learned from it.

As I said it depends how we are measuring success. I mean it's the most used, and probably most profitable engine there is in terms of sales, and money made(in terms of the engines on this site anyway for everything that's worth on a wider stage). Even if that is not true I doubt the money MCC have made would be turned down by most people. As for the EZrpg comment it was not aimed at you, but another post. Maybe I should have quoted -

mccodes has failed? it's the most used engine so I guess it depends how you class success. NWE is supposed to leave things to be desired so you improve it. It's designed to be a framework. If you mean the core of it has things to be desired tell A_b, and I'm sure he will take it into consideration. As for Ezrpg it probably confused you at first due to smarty. If you've never never used anything like it before it would look somewhat odd. Saying that the documentation for smarty is good, and the EZrpg engine is worth looking at as a free alternative to others.

First off please don't post someone's Ip on here. I removed it, and just for the record an IP is not enough to convict someone. Second just because the check was run (not by me) it does not mean that, had that person been a member of the forum, they would be named/banned. It could have been a simple check in case they were on here, and wished to be aware that their IP was just publicly posted, and they have could simply been informed via PM. Nothing was said that breached privacy by a staff member.

I don’t believe I have deleted any of your content (excluding the other copies of this thread, but I did leave this one...), and as far as I’m aware most of your posts aren’t too bad. That said some comments, joke or not, simply damage threads. All it did was lower the tone of a serious thread. May have been a joke, but it didn’t come across well in my view. True. In fact I’ve never seen a post from you I failed to understand, however as pointed out above I believe in some cases your jokes are a little distracting from the topic, but I guess that is just my opinion. Honestly I don’t know. Maybe they are missed; maybe there is something useful in amongst the random stuff. You would need to give examples, and please don’t do that in the thread. It would simply start an argument with the original poster. You have? Didn’t reach all of us. In any case you have now. It’s an open community, and I actually think you add a lot to it. I would however say at times, as said above, the posts are not helpful. I don’t believe its ½ your posts that get deleted (as you stated). It’s why if we feel we can’t be fair we do nothing and pass it on to someone else. As for your threads if we missed it, report the posts. They get dealt with.

You're still able to take it off board, and even able to send a PM with your msn, but posts that say "add me on msn" are simply annoying. Staying on the forum is simply a recommendation.

One he was not using. It's unlikely he bought more then 1 just to sell below the asking price.

Wouldn't the point be to buy the whole license including access to it on mccodes.com? Wouldn't be illegal if you buy it 2nd hand (assuming you can sell the licenses on anyway).

The mysql_ functions are not the same behind the scenes in PHP5 as they were when they were introduced anyway. They are improving them. This idea that they created them, and simply let them become outdated is odd. In any case I believe the quoted comment was more geared towards the way you use the extension. He was not suggesting they don't ever change it or improve the functionality simply that there is nothing wrong with people using it. Spudinski can correct me if I have misinterpreted it... then again it was some time ago.

Oh well I wouldn't expect it all done for $150, but at the same time I still wouldn't pay $150 for it to be done for me. Simply not worth it. In this case I seem to have hit the "do it yourself then" gap. Not that it's helpful to the original poster.

It says they will comply not that it's already blocked. I would assume we are going to see it over the next few weeks.

I can actually see why some people think $150 seems fair, however I would say compare what you could actually get else ware. $150 for a template that would still be freely available to anyone who wishes to clone your website, or the alternative (as someone has said above) where you can spend the same amount on a custom template from a smaller, but not necessarily less skilled designer. There are people on here that create templates for such a cost. I admit more may get you better templates, however there is the other end of the scale where you are simply paying that amount because of who you use. E.g. Sos-factory skilled? Sure, but I wouldn’t pay that much just because it’s them. In any case as a customer I would prefer a cheap custom template over $150 just to use a free one. I’m sure there are people that have a different opinion. That’s the freedom we enjoy.

To use something freely available, and create 3 pages $150 is not worth it. If he was asking for a custom layout I would agree with you.
