Seker Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Due to W3Theory's recent server trouble, I find myself looking for a new host. Does anyone have any decent, but affordable recommendations? Obviously, the ability to use 1 minute crons is a must. Would appreciate any and all input on this, as time is kind of an issue. Quote
Guest Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 hawkhost, hostgator, and all servers have downtime sometimes, you just have to deal with it or pay a ton to go on the cloud. Quote
Seker Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 No, you misunderstand. The W3Theory servers are no longer available. It's nothing to do with downtime. It's to do with some asshole and their DDOS attack. Quote

It's to do with some asshole and their DDOS attack. I am in the same boat as you. I feel for Peter and the situation that this has put him in ... as well as those of us that hosted with him. Getting some good solid recommendations would be greatly appreciated. It's a sad state of affairs when others take great delight in causing havoc and hardship to those that work hard to create something for others' enjoyment. Crap like this recent DDOS attack really pisses me off. There is no excuse for it. Quote
grant Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 yes i had to go back with blue host intill i find a new hosting again asses have time to waste by dosing hosting site Quote

lucky3809 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Do they support all the crons? Do they use cpanel? Yes they support all crons, and they do have a cpanel. hostable.com is just shared hosting, their other main site is brinkster.com it has dedicated, shared, managed hosting, but with limits. chaoswar4u Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Id be willing to provide hosting for members that need it for an arranged fee. Fee depends on resources needed. Been running my server for over 5 years and runs smoothly. Support for 1 minute crons or any other time available. Latest cPANEL interface provided. Interested contact me via email - [email protected] Quote
Djkanna Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Really depends on your needs. Media Temple IOX Host V7 Host RackSpace However you get what you pay for. Looking for some cheap hosting, I'm guessing Iox Host and v7 host will do. Looking for some higher end hosting products, try Media Temple or Rackspace. Quote

Dave Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I would suggest to you get the hosting from TuckTail.com here they provide many services at reasonable price. They provide good customer service and support. You've just bumped up a rather old thread from 2012! Is TuckTail your own host? Quote
JakeB Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I highly recommend digitalocean, it's absolutely amazing. Quote
MNG Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Looks like TuckTail is a reseller from Go Daddy. Am I right? http://prntscr.com/1oikcw Quote
sniko Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) Considering this thread has already been bumped, allow me to suggest a service provider. Since moving to Digital Ocean, I've experienced their customer support, billing options, and read their tutorials. They're a brilliant company to be with, however they don't offer the cPanel interface AFAIK - you'd have to purchase the license for that, and install it yourself. If you're curious on a further in depth review of mine, read this Edited August 31, 2013 by sniko Quote

Agree 100%. I always found webhostingtalk to be a good resource and as all the reviews on knownhost are pretty good, I generally use them for a lot of things now. All down to preference and how much knowledge you have on configuring servers etc, as renting a blank box is so much cheaper, but you manage it yourself, right down to installing apache etc. Quote
