ColdBlooded
You can now tag people on this forum when posting thread titles, post contents, blogs, etc. Simply use the @ symbol to do this. The @ symbol has become a generic method for tagging an entity, so we stuck with the @ symbol on this forum also. Example, Dave Macaulay likes Dabomstew. This will list inside your profile feed & give you a notification. See my profile http://makewebgames.io/member.php/50433-ColdBlooded -> Mentions, Thread Tags, Quotes are new tabs you will see. :) This feature will make it easy when you need to point and get someone's attention. Another feature we have released an Interaction enhancement. This enables users to Like, Dislike, and Thank peoples content across the website. This will hopefully provide some recognition of peoples efforts when posting around the website. It will also give users an indication of a person on this community. Let's show each another how positive we are :D I would like to thank a friend at dbtech for providing such great extentions for this forum system. If you guys have any further suggestions of effective tools for this website, please say and I will look into implementing it. Cheers. Edit: Forgot to mention that you also get notification if you have been thank'd, liked or Disliked.

ColdBlooded
wrux ColdBlooded Edit: Was testing if I could mention myself. Yeah you can mention yourself. How the tagging works at the moment is @ runs a query with string followed in 3 segments. Matches exact record and links it, only for Members though. I am working on Ajax functionality at the moment when you symbol @ and start typing, it'll autocomplete likewise results of Users/Members as well as Thread topics. This will be released later if it works out good. For now, if there is any concerns with these new features. Please voice it out on this thread and don't forget to @tag me :D

Dave
Pretty cool feature ColdBlooded Might have to improve some of the styling though when I've got some free time ;)

Guest
It seems you can't change your choice for like/dislike and thank you. As someone mentioned above the styling is awful, the black bar on threads indicates a header of some sort, to be used once per section, maybe move things around a bit. I would like your post but I can't change the dislike. Oh and ColdBlooded please give a way to disable notifications of it, personally tagging is annoying as hell, if someone doesn't want to read a thread then that's their choice but to be mentioned and given a notification.... plus what will happen about just spam? For example I can see several members that are probably just going to always dislike a post, which renders the plugins pointless. At least could make that modern day friendly UI for that tab/page. :D all yours, whenever you get a spare hour or so. Cheers.

I'm gonna fix up the "Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 0 Likes, 0 Dislikes" section and integrate the system better with posts. As !Angel said it currently looks pretty ugly and out of place!

If people abuse the appreciating factor (thank, like & dislike) functionality, then that's sad. I'll boot them off the community myself. That's negative, and not appreciative. No bias n00bs are welcome here. Appropriate actions will be take. Good point on disabling notification of this interactive posting. It could get annoying for some people. I will look into providing a disable feature on preference for those who don't want to be notified. I'll get back to @all regarding this. Basically the point of this feed back on peoples content which involves thanking, liking and disliking, please don't take it personally. Make some sense out of it, harden up if needed, ignore if needed, get happy if need, and move on. Cheers.
ColdBlooded
I'm gonna fix up the "Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 0 Likes, 0 Dislikes" section and integrate the system better with posts. As !Angel said it currently looks pretty ugly and out of place! By default as provided by dbtech, it does the job; but a bit out of it. Styling and placing this up would be another great value adding factor. Also updating the text "Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 0 Likes, 0 Dislikes" in real time of clicking "dislike" "like" "thank you" would be awesome. Dave Macaulay contact me for the php files if needed.

ColdBlooded, you made this quite clear about abusing this new feature, and how you would ban them. Well I guess you should ban The Coder. And if that isn't clear for anyone: 10:33 PM - The Coder clicked Dislikes for this post: Inventory > Item Type by Script47 10:33 PM - The Coder clicked Dislikes for this post: Inventory > Item Type by Script47 10:30 PM - The Coder clicked Dislikes for this post: Which one should I pick? by Script47 10:29 PM - The Coder clicked Dislikes for this post: Which one should I pick? by Script47 Navigate To "Post Thanks / Like" I don't see what I said wrong but It seems he has some sort of personal vendetta against me and you said it yourself, its negative and not appreciative. He's been warned more than enough times, but I guess he thinks he can skirt the rules. I mean one of the thread which I made he disliked the post where I was offering free code. Then he disliked a post where i was asking to help. Edited May 2, 2014 by Script47

The Coder
If theres a dislike feature, and people of the community can use, why shouldn't we? Edited May 2, 2014 by KyleMassacre Just removed the irrelevant half
DeathXXX
i agree if some one had posted something of no use or basically "sh**" they should have the right to give there opinion withought you planning to get them banned.
KyleMassacre
I'm going to close this thread for a quick second so I could clean it up and not have to worry about post coming in after I do it. This thread is not to argue or anything like that it's simply an introduction thread to a new feature. If you want to argue take it to p.m.
