I agree, I've been on this forum since I was 13 and it served as my entry into web development and really defined my life. The exact reason I bought it back was due to the huge impact it had on me. The sad reality is the internet has grown up, Discord and other apps are more popular for these discussions. I plan for MWG to live on for a long time, and I'm glad others are getting the opportunity to get into this space due to it, yeah maybe it's not as active as it once was but at least it's not offline anymore.

Ah yeah good point, mine is purely a gaming server with cPanel / WHM. I use iCloud with 2TB of storage to back up everything else as I trust them more to make good backups of their servers than I would haha. I liked Hetzner for their cost but the lack of support and the German location didn't super work for my use case. Currently using Namecheap as they're pretty cost effective compared to the competition for both VPS's and dedicated servers. Only had a couple of issues when their whole network had bandwidth issues but apart from that it's been smooth sailing.

I took a peak at the free version and I like the architecture and design, seems to be still simple enough for most people to get a hang of it whilst implementing some newer practices within PHP. Certainly a step above what MCCodes offers. $50 is inexpensive for something of this nature, if someone is wanting to really launch a game that's a drop in the ocean compared to the level of effort and work required to create a unique, profitable experience. However, people coming into this industry for the first time may struggle to fund that type of expense, which is where the free edition can help them break ground. Looking forward to see how this grows!

@peterisgbyou can shim things like MySQL than suppress all warnings / notices which aren’t important to run it on a more modern version. It’s actually what I did for PS, so I could upgrade code iteratively rather than trying to fix the whole thing at once.

You mean for a PBBG? I've setup MWG's hosting and both WHM / cPanel servers for my other games along with an entirely custom CentOS 8 stack for another further game I have.

I was hesitant but it took 2 clicks so it's not bad. Some others request lengthy costly withdrawals which are a time sink on my part.

We now only support withdrawals from CashApp, PayPal and UK Bank Transfers. This is due to the effort involved with supporting custom withdrawal methods. All other custom withdrawal types are no longer offered nor supported.
