i feel this should be taken care of before we see it on every site like we did mccodes "it has no copyright only lite does".

grpg is/was a paid engine can anyone show us definitive proof that it is now a free engine under GNU/GPL ?

untill then this is and should be treated as a paid engine in my opinion. anyway just me wondering :)

Once a script/image/etc is created by the "creator" a copyright is automaticly enabled upon that product for that creator. No where does it need to be in the copyright directory. But if you do put your product's in the copyright directory, it help's you (The "creator" of the product) to file DMCA Take Down notice's.

It seems grpg is becoming very popular and its being use freely. I guess its ok the owner nor developers havent spoken for it so...

That doesn't make using it freely okay, just because the owner hasn't spoken up. (maybe he has, just not here or doesn't even know that people are sharing his/her work freely...)

ok so to your logic if i used an unlicensed Photoshop or McCodes for example and Adobe or Dabs/CB didnt say anything can i use it for nothing i dont think so it is still illegal to use the program/script without the owners permissions and yes just because the script is freely downloadable on nulled websites dont mean you automatically get a valid licence.

read here because clearly you dont get the concept of what nulled means

Found the project:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/genericrpg/

Seems he did release it under the GPL licence, well if this is him.

Also seems like the project was abandoned almost 5 years ago ' Last Update: 2007-04-16'

It was FREE to get the engine from that link I have the copy that i got a couple years back, when the link was working. The license WAS under GPL!!

If you still have a copy can you post the GPL licence as according to the only other site that is providing any info other than sourceforge is hotscripts which states last update 2009 commercial and costs $50 per copy.

It may been a different link then any of those, but it did say myneocorp on the sourceforge account i downloaded it from, and the codes had http://www.lunarbattle.com in them, unless it was a illegal account giving the files freely, as for the license i need to dig through my files to find it then will post the license that came with it.

This from Publius the Maker of GRPG.

forums.f13.net/index.php?action=search2

If dont show up. Put GRPG in search

Sourceforge already accepted my GRPG project, I am just waiting until I get a somewhat more stable release before I upload the first version of GRPG to be downloaded and ran on other servers.

-He never got round to uploading that stable release, therefore it's still not an open source project, not to mention he has sold the script many times, that it's quite plausible he had a change of heart and decided it would be best GRPG remained commercially available and just forgot to amend the Sourceforge project listing.
