Hiya i am going to colect loads of mods and store them in an archive (for the general public) i would appreiciate any help with gathering the mods as there are 100s if not 1000s out there!

I want to do this as there are loads of people who say im `looking for this mod polease help me/code it` and it would be easier for them to have a quick look in the archive (would be 100x better then MWS search)

There is one problem i can think of tho, the mod writer may not wqant his/her mod to be distributed by another person but i was thinking if i were to give the person credit plus a link to there site/user profile would that be ok.

hey dayo

i have a few folders full of free mods from dev-forums (1st and 2nd time it was up) , cronwerks and makewebgames all with copyrights on the page i have them as i feel there the best of the mods posted and if the sites went down i could still use them i will have to ask around (since i always do) about who feels ok with me sending you there mods but i don't see any reason why free mods can not be sent to you :)

What about support for the mods? Not sure about everyone else, but I like to keep issue involving a mod within the original posting for the mod.

Are you going to link to the original postings of them or provide an area for the creators to offer support...

There will be limited support aswell as a link (if avalable to the original source)

This idea is quite good, IF it is done correctly and supervised, I Would allow all my modifications i have made available for this project/idea, Although i would like a Link back to my site.

yea a link back will be added to all mods, if you could zip them then add any info you want added in a text file within the zip then i will add that info for you

You will have to either have the permission of the original creators, or the owners of the place you found it to even move it.

You will in addition, have to make a direct reference to the author.

This idea isn't new, and take my word for it - either gets you in trouble with the authors, or it just gets you nowhere at all.

But... Good luck in your efforts.

i am sure if it was posted free and copyright + a link back (thing thats in the mwg tos) you can do what you want with free mods no need or there permission its just right to ask

That is what i thought, but i would rather be safe then sorry ;)

if people can send the mods to [email protected] along with a descriptiion and any origin details you would like added i will add them and once i have a few i will make the archive public

I know this is probably going to be hard, but why don't you make sure all the mods are in working conditions and are bug free? As people will download a mod and the mod might not even work. So I think someone should test the mods and fix them if there not working. Just a thought. All in all good luck with the project I think its a good idea..

Idea is a good one, my only concern is maybe a forum is a better place for this sort of things.

realy, how many people per day say, 'can come one make me a mod'

@dangerboy all mods added so far were made by myself od sniko so should all be good
