Well, the obvious first of course! You might have noticed that you have landed in a totally new environment, if not, you might need to get your eyes checked or clear your cache. We're proud to say that we can add one more forum system to the list. Anyway, MakeWebGames has officially moved on to vBulletin Suite! We can now offer you the very same forum boards, together with a new blog systems and e-zine, a cms system that will be used by a select few people to provide high quality content about various topics! We have also restructured some parts to gain a more usable forum. I hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience and that you all will find this an improvement. We have still more updates to come, apart from this restructure and new forum system. We hope to offer more of these updates over the coming days! All users should be able to log in with the SAME credentials as on the old system! If there are any issues, or you have a question about this new situation, please make a post here http://makewebgames.io/forumdisplay.php/290-Feedback-and-Site-Support and we'll try to assist you. I'd like to put some special thanks to Coldblooded for the support and purchase of vbul, and A_Bertrand for a huge load of work done. He's the one that made it so that you can use your old password ;)

well quite honestly upgrading from 3.6 to 4, did change some things, but overal it stayed the same for me with just a few quick changes. For instanced, my tabs are still at the good ol' place ;)

Just my way of saying welcome to the team towards him ;)

Alf is pure awesome, back then comedy shows we're still spot on, nowadays it's missing something :o

Indeed, however MCC will still be a part of the forum, a rather large and active part compared to the others. If we can improve that area as well at the same time, that would be great!

actually, on that matter we could make it so, that there are 2 tiers of support, community support and direct-engine-support for people only with a valid license... however, we will not be able to just remove all support unless you have a license as lite does not require a license, nor should mod makers have a license per se..

But is it related to this problem we used to get before? Could just be a problem on the hosts side as well ..

Aha, good that you told us, I just checked and php6 is nowhere to be seen. Overall I like php so much, just because by default it leaves you open to do everything you want wrong! This also gives you the benefit, aside from actually doing everything wrong, that you have a lot of ways to get to a desired result. It was indeed announced that php5.3 would be a major change compared to php5.2. Whether this is good, or bad, I'll leave that in between. A fact is that a lot of OOP support was added, which is at the same time the problem of php to keep up with the more modern language that are built around OO or just provide it much more naturally. I believe php can never get up to par with current OO languages like Java or .net just by the way the platform works, and unless they change that, I don't see them closing the gap. But if php changes the core functionality and how things will work, it will lose all backwards compatibility, and I don't see that happen rather fast either. So a simple conclusion is that php will, most likely, have issues with proper OOP support for quite some time. I'm not saying that it won't work, because it really does. Another thing I somewhat miss is a real runtime environment, like jre. It could also benefit applications largely, but that also comes with a price. As on the topic of frameworks, no! I think the php-dev group should not keep themselves busy with frameworks, or at least not integrate them into php itself. Frameworks are great for RAD and such, but this is also one of the nice things of php. You can actually do with it what you want and you are not forced to use a framework without making it complex. Php is by default, very easy to use and it should stay like that.

I'll agree with most of what a_bertrand has said. IE9 is indeed a huge step forward in the IE browsers, and it's closing the gap with others. It also feels much more at home. The last few IE versions felt like they were made by clumsy people, they just had a strange feeling towards usability. IE 9 however, has left this issue behind, and that is also a nice upgrade in my eyes. IE won't become my primary browser for quite a while for sure, but who knows it might become my secondary, till now I only found out good things, I wonder when it will start to go wrong! For those using IE on a daily basis, I would say, time to upgrade, just know that it is a painful install.

As I've said many times before, WBB has great advantages over other forum software but everything has some disadvantages at the same time as well. No doubt about that. This post was made on friday the 11th, in mean time we changed hosts and I think the issue has been resolved? I'm still convinced that the issue we had is just because at peak times, the server could not handle it / the host account wanted to use more connections as it was allowed.

True but this is not very easy for a new member to find out directly. And it wouldn't hurt for MWG to keep an eye on these kinds of things, after all we make it possible ... So I do think we should monitor this more closely.

First of all, I have only read this thread quickly, but I do have some remarks on everything that has been posted. - If we have to review each and every mod in detail it will take quite some time for those involved. - Everyone has a different style and approach - A demo site provided by mcc will probably not work, just think of it when all those mods will be installed on the very same site. - .... Al in all, we could set up some basic standards/requirement a paid mod should meet before being accepted by us. Like install instructuins, screenshots, and so on. We could also give it some sort of "seal of approval" meaning it works, not that it has been written perfectly, just that it works. And if we wish to go any further we could divide it into different categories/ratings for instance Mod A has been approved, is PHP-OOP while mod B has been approved is not PHP-OOP but is xhtml valid... Things like these either are or are not, so no favor could be gained by being a friend of one.

Wbb has this issue more than smf did, but smf had other huge disadvantages ... each soft has it's own little problems it's time for dabs or cb to act though.

heeeey, that's mean! I told faz it would be a quick fix, that made it work somehow. But since I do not slice and dice overrated gfx designs, I couldn't make it properly. Now get back on topic you :P

Okay a few things that you should think of, you can achieve the feeling or happening by simply using your head. 1) Learn to read errors, it says something doesn't exist, try to make it exist 2) Are making use of a non standard feature of an MCC script? - find that modification! A Good modification will always come with install instructions and what not... (a stolen/bad one might not). 3) Link us to it, or make a post in that topic. If it has no topic on here, contact the creator of the mod for support (or do that directly) But I can only say, please learn to read installation instructions, and if you don't have any, well that can only mean two things; A) you have a mod that doesn't work properly, or B) you somehow got it from somewhere you shouldn't have got it from. This forum isn't for people to post an error and hope for some magic to appear so we know what went wrong ;) Use the correct way of posting, share information, ... This is a public community forum. If you can't do that, then we simply can not help you.

For the last time ever, people need to stop guessing things and getting the truth from the people that know it. As for TornCity, it has been around since 2003 (beta - that I played), which is earlier than MCC did. TC was already launched to the public when MCC got known a year (or two later), I don't know how they initially came to the idea of making mcc, but since then, it actually became a reserved engine based on TC. I've seen the code of both games, and they are not simular in any way at all. Whoever tells something different, is wrong :) As for RogueVampires, it is again, not MCC. I know the owner very well, I've also had access to the games code/database as I was an original administrator on that game. The code wasn't the best, but it was clearly different from mcc. It's made by Zyx, who later offered to sell on the engine as well, and made other "game engines" which never got released to the public. It was later sold on to Jez (not sure if he stills own it) but certain features of that game were built as MCC modification, one being the search fields... As for Samurai of legend, I don't know anything about it, so I won't say this or that either. Now please, ... all of you, before just accepting or saying something, be sure who it is and if it's true ... no point in telling lies as it will only make you look stupid.

Here in Belgium, any mathematical or scientific related education in their humaniora should get these kind of math. Computer science and the a likes get it for sure.

This is pure math, programming uses this math to solve programming issues, but anything can be solved by just using math... and there is a lot more math as that too. @ BGF: I recall getting that sort of math too around that age, in more as math classes too (since I followed a scientific program). But I know I recently saw it again at 18, first year of uni-college. Basically a fast crash course. Same with a lot of other stuff (like p => q, something of equivalents, pure letter-based-math), but sadly I do not know the correct names in english. BTW: Simplified answer is always true (1) Simplified: step 1) inverse of a product is the inverse of both values in an OR (sum) and thus inverse of A*B + A becomes inverse A + inverse B + A step 2) inverse A + A = 1 and thus our expression becomes 1 + B step 3) it doesn't matter what the value of B is since 1 OR something is always 1 and thus always true Directly calculated: Each line below is a description on how you can calculate this, each line is separate and has it's own value in a truth table (You can check this by making a simple truth table, 2 vars means 4 possible outcomes) Outcome 1 A = true, B = true If A is true (1), the outcome will always be true since, in the original expression, you have x + A too. Outcome 2 A = true, B = false If A is true (1), the outcome will always be true since, in the original expression, you have x + A too. Outcome 3 A = false, B = true If A is false (0) and B is true (1), the partial expression returns false ( A * B = 0 * 1 = 0), but since you take the inverse it will be true (1) The end result will be 1 + A which always equals true Outcome 4 A = false, B = false If both A and B are false (0), the outcome will also be true (1), because 0*0=0 but you take the inverse, so it's 1, 1 + A will always be true

@home Guys, the server is not where you live -_- it's testing to a server located at that place..

Added bonus feature: Donators only need to play half as much as regular members as they get a bonus everywhere, thus rendering it impossible to get to the top :/ I get it that you want to give donators a benefit, but you're giving them too much in comparison with the other players.

Please create a new topic in the correct forum area, and ask your question with enough information for other to understand. I'm quite sure someone will help you soon enough after that, but creating a new topic in the correct section is the best you can do. I couldn't make up what you wanted honestly. Topic locked

Crons can be ran on a WAMP environment, you just need additional software on your windows to achieve that. I would suggest googling around on this a bit, I've done it before, and I think it's even possible with task sheduler. Free hosting with mcc and crons ... just forget it already, it won't happen.

Thanks for the screenshots, seems like a pretty impressive tool to use! I really need to keep this in mind, great tip!
