LF someone to code up my ingame & outgame psd (€ 40-50)
Nickson replied to MysteriousD's topic in Requests
Please stay on topic from now on, only posts about the work that's required, not about the methods of payment. I think that has been made clear! -
How many copies will you be selling?

I wouldn't mind some more information either, after all, it was a nice game I played when I was a bit younger. Aside from that it your main page does look a bit fishy, and also 2 users with the name "shadow" that have just made one post in this thread who joined at the same time? Looks to me like you're just posting to get members :o

mccode-v1 Stock Market. Working + Secured
Nickson replied to Haunted Dawg's topic in Free Modifications
If it's an informative post with some useful content, then there is nothing wrong with it. If it's just a bump/spam, well that might be a bit annoying though.. -
*sigh* this is not tech news ... thread moved

Are you a Coder For Hire, or Looking For a Coder, or Both?
Nickson replied to runthis's topic in Question of the day
Added some extra options, I could probably be classed as coder to hire, but I do more as that too :o -
If you would post/look in the right category, you would find all these STICKIED threads with ease, of course that requires minimal effort from you ... http://makewebgames.io/forumdisplay.php/280-General-Discussion Look at all the stickies, should be rather easy to find, no? Please post there next time too..

This is why you should stay away from weird msn deals (and msn chats for that matter)... nothing good comes from those xD Nontheless, ibrahim should be avoided...

Quite a good idea actually, we'll keep it within this topic for now and see what we can do as "special" ^^ I'll leave it up to danny and others to add or remove people from the list and not involve myself too much in this list! Topic stickied

Yeah, we might need to look into a better naming, I'll admit it isn't the best yet... but it does belong in that category :p

I actually see all devices for a different type of use, I think quite some people can agree on that, even though they won't admit it. Basically I see it like this. PC - super flexible gaming without limits PS3 - great end device hooked to a tv for casual gaming, casual entertainment and network access Xbox - console for hardcore gamers Wii - best option to play games with your non-gamer friends The fact that you can get about any game for PC that is released on Xbox as well, makes it somewhat redundant I find. Given that many xboxers just like a console more than a pc, they buy an xbox, but I personally rather spend a bit more on that pc then and play all kinds of games I want. I'm not sure about pc vs xbox game prices, but I think they are cheaper for the pc? Not that it matters that much if you really want to play that game, but it's just a thing I thought of. But this is why I kinda prefer the PC over xbox, and any other console for that matter. However, if all of your friends are hardcore gamers, you might want to chose for that xbox, just because it makes the total experience that much nicer. A wii is just awesome to have, just because it's a totally different feeling to play eventhough it's somewhat limited on technical capabilities compared to other devices. I've noticed that non-gamers, family of all ages, and especially females like the wii a lot more than anything else. But that's more due to the selection of games and not the device itself. In conclusion, a wii is pretty nice to have, yet it's not the best choice.. And then we only have the PS3 left where I haven't spoken about yet! I've owned a playstation device since they ever existed, except for the PS1, PSX -> PS2 -> PS3. I can say they have never let me down yet, they've always worked perfectly fine, no complaints, no issues, no technical problems and the ease of use is just simple. This is already a huge reason for me to stay with the brand. All games also work from the older to the newer device. So I still don't see any reason why I suddenly should buy the latest competitor device without even looking at what device is actually better than the other. All games work exceptionally well for me, I don't get any lag, gfx is good, ... Another good point in my book. They also have some nice titles that aren't available on any other platform, like Gran Turismo and KillZone... These are my kind of games, if I already play one on a console. Aside from all those plus-points a PS3 is also a great end device for non-gaming-use. It's a perfect bluray player for the same kind of money. So why not take the option to play games at once with it? It also works perfectly in my network, so that's another good point for me. All together, this is why I prefer a Playstation 3 over any other console, but not over a PC. The price is good for the options and quality you get.

I take it that is what you wanted? If not, or if you do have any suggestions whatsoever, feel free to hit me up ;)

Notepad++ isn't really an IDE, it's just a rather functional editor, which I have to admit is very quickly in terms of use, however an IDE can do so much more than an editor. Only the start up times are longer for an IDE, but once you're using it, you shouldn't notice much of a speed difference. If netbeans is too heavy, you can always try others like eclipse, webstorm(from jetbrains) or komodo. Well, that is what surprises me too actually. So many people using text editors while IDE's could offer so much extras. One of the very helpful things is the live debugging feature. This should come in handy for many, many developers on MWG, as there is no need to go back to your php file anymore to go check whether you have an error or not. The IDE will simply tell you

Why would you even make such a post? You're stull a cute little troll that hasn't made any significant contribution towards anyone, whereas runthis has. Aside from that, he's making a positive suggestion that could lead to something. Let this be your only public warning for you failbro :) There is no need or place for such behaviour.

I don't know if this is what you really wanted, but we do have a category "ajax/javascript", might not be in the correct place though. How about we try to get some life into that one? http://makewebgames.io/forumdisplay.php/358-Ajax-Javascript

don't worry, that's why we can move posts too ;) People will notice via the "latests post" option anyways, if they can not be bothered to scroll that far down.

Thread moved to programming tools where it belongs... Nonetheless Netbeans is a quite good IDE. It also has a plugin system and can handle Java and c/c++ code programming and compilation. However I have to say that I do enjoy Komodo more for php programming, and IntelliJ for java :P. Another good IDE is eclipse. But in the end it all comes down to preference, and what you need to do. The right tool for the right job! This is why I actually use 3 different IDEs, it might not be ideal since I need to change working environment each time, yet if you feel at home, it helps a whole lot. I've also made a post in the past about this, might be worth reading.. http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/39063-Editor-vs-IDE-and-what-to-choose

Thread prefixes After a small internal discussion with some moderators, it has been decided to re-add the thread prefixes. From now on, you'll need to select a prefix when making a post within the most of the mccodes board ( http://makewebgames.io/forumdisplay.php/330-MCCode-Development-amp-Support ), some are excluded like the general mcc board. When posting within this board, you do not need to select a prefix, yet you still can. Please use this feature correctly, it will only help us and yourself. It will become easier to spot what kind of support you need exactly. Also read this thread http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/39820-READ-before-Posting-for-Help... Failure of following these simple rules might result in your post being deleted. There are currently 4 thread prefixes to chose from: lite (the free version) v1 v2 redux sub board changes Requests & development stages has been merged with "Mccodes mods in production", all posts can now be found in "Requests & In Production"

Well yes, but what would you expect? That it will be a few hours of work and you're done? It's a few hours a day you'll spend probably ...

People do, mafia style is just very popular. But there are quite some games out there that are very different and very successful. You just need some imagination, and of course, you need to put time and effort in it. Nonetheless, a good mafia game can still survive and become very successful, you'll just have a bit more competion. Of course, a good management, and programming is required as well, but that's for all games...

aspx are webpages of the .net framework (microsoft), written in either vb.net or c#. Mccodes is written in php. A simple and basic answer is that those two won't work together, at least not on most webhosts. There are options to combine both (since aspx can work on linux via mono, and php on windows) but I would advise against it. Most simple option is to keep your mods in php, just because it will save you a lot of time, work and troubles. Security all depends on the writer itself, and not on the language really. I won't go into detail about php vs aspx, as a lot of things could be said about the two, while forgetting about other programming languages. And not to forget that personal opinion change the view of a person as well. All I will say is that you need to look at what information you already have of your current project when you will decide what programming you are going language to use. If you already have a project written in php, it might be best to stay with that. To clear up some confusion, if there is any, I've decided to make a post about the MWG - MCC relation. Many of you probably know that MWG is infact owned by MCC, but I doubt many know what this means exactly. Mccodes has indeed the ownership of Makewebgames. This is also the reason why dabs & coldblooded have full administrator rights. But that's about the end of the existing relationship. We (staff) have made some agreements with MCC during the acquisition in order to come as close as possible to everyones best interests. I'll try to explain a few things so any confusion might be lifted. Daily management of MWG Makewebgames operates fully on its own, with its own staff, rules, and so forth. Mcc has agreed to not involve themself in the daily management of MWG as owner. Both dabomstew and coldblooded are part of the mwg staff team though, so they know what goes around, and they do have their voice within that team, yet as a normal staff member. We can make our own decisions since MWG operates completely independent from Mccodes. MCC Support Makewebgames will support the Mccodes Game Engine to the level of best effort. All programming issues can be posted on mwg. Keep in mind however, that this does not mean that an official member of Mccodes will reply to your thread. If you wish to receive official support, you should report any issues via http://mccodes.com/support/ All threads should be posted inside MCCode Development & Support and nowhere else. We will not limit to who community support may be given. MWG will not legally pursue anyone without a proper license, but we will encourage the community to be self regulating on this matter and we may also provide tools for members to check on valid licenses. Questions may be asked though. We support any constructive critisism no matter the subject.
