Yet, they will show you the copyright license of a book/document? 2. Why my website, I don't like to be linked in search engines for content that is not mine. Quote
SoulOfDeath Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Re: v3 game engine lol, no i mean the site you said the copyright is not on not any of you own sites the one you mentioned above Quote
Phases Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Re: v3 game engine I think this is more a question of morals than copyright... You all know who made the original code. V1, V1.1, V2... Now, there are poeple who don't know about CE or who REALLY made it... but people who buy stolen property can still be busted. Also, as to copyright, the statements. For printed items (including websites), you do not have to file a copyright in a legal sense. All you have to do is prove that it's your original or based on your work and you can win. (not always set in stone, but I've watched this very thing happen) Is it worth it at this point for Dabs to do it? Probably not, it would cost him more than it's worth to go after all the non-paying game runners. Quote
SoulOfDeath Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Re: v3 game engine yer but it will help get the illegal games off the net at least !!! they never last anyhow dabs im sure would get the bigger games off first, you can also always see dabs engine anyway thanks for the info, you can still get busted,i hope people with there illegal games on this forum everywhere no that and i hope dabs, coldblooded all peeps involved with mccodes start to do everything they can (i know public can't)also everyone knows who the engine is made by its pretty obvious and people who say he stole everything and didn't make it i find hard to beleive he could of stole it from torncity and the very few games around back then thats my view anyway and hopefully coldblooded will stick to his word and release hard proff that it is indeed copyrighted, i have seen s**ty sites copyrighted under a uk copyright site so im sure they would of orginally backed up there ass before starting, but they probally cba with taking all the people with illegal games out as they no not many really last long, i hope illegal game owners relise this and sort there ass out $75 is nothing for a legal v1 game, at least you dont have to worry about if you could possibley be done for it, you also know they won't shut you down by contacting your host, also im sure your players would prefer to know that they are not wasting there time and money on a game which will die out :x if you close you normally get paypal disputes for the donation (some one running one got them) thanks again for the info Phases how have you seen it though ? Phases Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: v3 game engine I work in a very technical community. I've had friends file claims for information that was plagarized from their sites. You post a fix on your blog for some MS bug, and then 50 people (some who have higher visitor rates, and advertising) strip your content verbatim and don't give credit. Or... you publish a script that does something really cool, and offer it as shareware or gratitude donations... somebody takes your script and starts selling it. Seen things like that go... and settle out of court. But... you have to want to hire a lawyer (which could cost you more than you'll get). for most of the illegal game runners here there would be no profit in dabs going after them... they make maybe 50 bucks a month. Some, a very few, are profitable and stay that way... but they are rare... I mean, c'mon... if you don't have the ethics to pay for the code... you'll probably hire dome dipshit to code a mod for you and some cut rate price, and he'll crash your db, steal your users and do some other damage... or... you're friends, who you make admins, will screw it up by bullying the players.., Quote
SoulOfDeath Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: v3 game engine yer players feel better if you buy from dabs, at least its not going to go to a dead end or the owner isnt quickly going to sell it just to make a quick buck but illegal games should stop, its not fair on the players playing agame which in a few months will probs just die off and they will have there cash but w/e i say im ligit just incase anyhow my mods i use are from owners/codes from here basically and im happy as i am had a nice lot of donations from 2 of my games from july-29th-august 18 or 19th very happy brought my self a 22 inch pc monitor from my donation monitor and had enought to buy a paid host for 6 months im happy im sure players are happy to donate knowing that if the game did shut i would credit them on another one of my games, when players speak to you more you earn there trust and get speaking i live in the uk i speak to a player in australia daily, its not all about money its about being a good owner (i am not saying i am just generally saying its true) better the owner you are more players enjoy playing, well i would liek to see something happen to someone not charges just shutting down of there games would be funny lol Quote
Magictallguy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Re: v3 game engine Getting back to the topic's title.. [ul] v3 should be coming out sometime before this Christmas (2008) It will be coming with a licencing kit that's been encoded. All copyrights will be reserved and handled officially. It will be the most secure Game Engine created [/ul] (Nyna will have a lot of fun with this one...) It's uses the default mysql_query in some places and sprintf in others :) You've still got a little work to do but it uses advanced (AND CLEAN!!) code! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Re: v3 game engine Well if that's all the protection it has ... Looks like I may start start charging for support - sounds like I'll make mint. Quote

BreakingLight Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Re: v3 game engine Well either way im glad to hear that it is being improved alot.(Lets just hope the improvements said are as good as they sound. Quote
Spudinski Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Re: v3 game engine Well either way im glad to hear that it is being improved alot.(Lets just hope the improvements said are as good as they sound. With any new release of just about anything, some parts will be fixed, and it will be better than the last release. It might just be another change of the template, or it might be everything, who knows? Quote
YoungGold Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 Re: v3 game engine i suggest when v3 is released it should not be majorly advertised it should be opened up for beta testers or whatever. Because like with every thing things do have problems and always will. but it takes someone to find them in order for them to be fixed. so just dont get HUGE expectations of this source. Quote
wolfe Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Re: v3 game engine Im not overly impressed with the way hes run mccodes sales... or the fact that this v3 has been "rumored" for a year now. Quote

Unless this "magical version 3" is DRASTICALLY better, it won't be worth the storage space it takes up on your compute.r You'd be better off learning how to build a game/site from scratch rather than shelling out money on a pointless piece of software Quote
~Destiny-Gaming~ Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Re: v3 game engine V3 Will Not Be The Securest Ever And Can't Be EVERYTHING Can Be HACKED! Quote
Spudinski Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Re: v3 game engine V3 Will Not Be The Securest Ever And Can't Be EVERYTHING Can Be HACKED! Luckily not by everyone. Some websites would require tremendous effort to be "hacked", I can name quite a few of that websites. Quote
-Matt- Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Re: v3 game engine sure most things can be hacked if you tried hard enouth and have the time, but its breaking the law. so risk a chance of getting sued by bigger websites, but a hole website would take time if secured. you can hack little parts of the website wich would only effect some parts, but like spud said some webistes would take alot of time to hack.
