KyleMassacre Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 you can purchase whois protection for some TLDs through your registrar. Personally I don't see a reason for it unless you got something to hide. I can care less if you know some of my contact info and if you do search my whois records it just shows you need a life of your own. The only time I get it is if my registrar offers is free Quote

SRB Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Namecheap comes with free whoisguard then its a few bucks a year. Or just use false information :D Quote
Guest Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Or just use false information :D Oh Hi there Mr. SRB :p. I would rather pay a few bucks than risk my domain getting seized, the chances are slim but I don't care :) Quote
KyleMassacre Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Yeah I think its some regulation th at you use correct info. I get emails every so often from godaddy asking me to verify all my info. Quote
Dave Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Or just use false information :D If you use false information then you may not be able to prove your ownership of the domain, always a wise idea to put your correct details when you're buying something. Shouldn't need to protect your information unless you've got something to hide anyhow. Quote

Shouldn't need to protect your information unless you've got something to hide anyhow. That is assuming I don't have access to the phone number (Yet not my primary) and address (friends). Name is always mine as is date of birth -- I can't lose the domains and they can't be seized as I have all the info and access to any paper mail they send. ------------------------------------- Unless I have something to hide? You ARE talking to me -- rather not have some domains linked directly to me when they are used for... fun :P Quote
Dominion Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Same idea as having a business line, and business address. Just make sure you don't completely lie... "123 fake street" for example. Honestly it's easy enough to pay for the privacy. Quote
Jason-x Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Told him to do this several times.. He accused me of scamming him lol you can purchase whois protection for some TLDs through your registrar. lucky3809 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 You can purchase protection from your hosting and domain, I had hosting that automatically came with the option of protection. If your using go daddy they charge I think it is $9.99 or $15 a year? it's been awhile since I used them. Quote
