Kieran-R
What do you feel are the most important 1st impressions when you first see a game. eg, what is most likely to make you want to play the game?
Danny696
Layout defiantly, which is actually structure...
The Spirit
How you register can also be a factor
lucky3809
page structure is top priority in my opinion and then layout 2nd...
Djkanna
Easy of navigation, if it takes me more than 30 seconds to find the very small (hypothetical example) sign up button at the bottom of the page, I'm gone.
a_bertrand
For me it's a bit more than that, it must overall look professional, which mean look & feel, easy of use, description & documentation etc.
Danny696
dont people understand, Layout is the Structure of the page...
Rory_M
I may not know much about design, but i completley agree with Danny Layout and Structure are the same.
Nickson
Design and looks are one thing, but so are loading times, ease of use, community and much more. But since you asked for our first impressions I voted "Ease of navigation" as that comes close to most what I find important.
Danny696
If you were being 'picky' you could also say navigation is the layout, as the layout of the page includes the mainmenu etc..
Nickson
Yeah but I'm not that picky, and he's put Landing page layout as an option, this is basically the login page for me, and that's not where I'll be playing the game ;)
bineye
There's one that no one has mentioned, which for me as well as many others, that has a factor on the decision to play or not, and that is the actual name of the game. Think about it, how many times have you seen "Mafia City" then "Mafia Village" follow along right after? If you are like me, you won't want to even look at the second one after seeing the first. Danny696
Honestly, my first impresions of a game are when Im not even on it. The domain? Is it free? If it is, I'm not going on it. Then the name as bineye said. Is it something like "Ripped"? (Ripoff from torn ;)) If it is, I'm not going on it. Then if I do click the link, is it a free server, does it take more than 1-2 second to load it? If it does, im not going on it.
Dominion
Once the site as actually loaded it can vary. For example an mazing looking site with “usersonline : 0 “ shown would still not get me to sign up.
ashbow97
I tend to be slightly picky with the games I start, as if I spend a lot of time on them I want it to be fun and enjoyable. And it tends to be that a good working game tends to have a good design and structure. So that usually what grabs my eye first, but for me to carry on playing it must be easy to navigate and fun to play :)
Sim
The landing page followed by design/navigation. If I land on a page that has no content or just looks "huh", I turn away.
