Equinox Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 @ EQ - Well to be honest for some of the fixes on the forum they would need semi strong coding. I still disagree. Mostly all the errors in McCodes have been fixed by the members. Not so hard to fix when you take the idea of the fixes and make your own. Patches could of been made years ago by following what users post. Quote
Dayo Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Thanks Paul. Also, why can people just be happy that the McCodes team are actually back and updating their scripts, rather than just flame at them, it's like, you aren't happy because its not secure, but then again, once they have/in the process of securing it, your not happy. So, either way, your acting like a dumb mofo, why are you not happy when its secure, because you want it to be secure, but, still, your flame once it is. Gay much. Just my view, not to be taken to heart, apart from, be happy that they are trying/succeeding to secure their scripts. -sniko Im guessing your not a customer of McCodes who has purchased the script then had to pay again for it to be secured, what about the people who purchased it a year or two ago some spent 400-600 USD to get the basic barebones of a game. This should of been done a month at the latest of the first 2.0.0 release. The fact it took McCodes what 6 years (not sure it thats correct just quoting what someone said) to patch simple fixes is the reason why i will never buy anything from them ever, Think of it as you just brought a car you drive it out the carlot and then it falls all apart ... would you ever go back? Im sorry but whats stopping them doing all this to `hype` everyone for V3 then doing exactly what they did with V2 ... Over all i think its way to little way too late :S Quote
Paul Evans Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Too be honest not all the issues even in the forum have been fixed on MWG look at the examples Cronus and MTG did neither were actually secure (no offense to them) but they didn't actually spend time on them they just simply edited the exploits they knew im guessing MC finally spent time on the patch therefore it's more secure. If they have looked at the code properly it should be quite good... I did a minor test (due to computer issues) and found nothing, i did concentrate on the forum but still... When i get my computer up and working again ill give more information and do a more in depth test, i'd love to actually see anyone give it a go though. but come on guys stop the bickering it's a demo not a debate on it being late, atleast it's been done. Dominion Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 @ dom - I actually do believe mcv3 structure is going to be rather good if they take into consideration all the ideas which were posted on here, i think i actually contributed to some ideas myself. My script actually has afew of the ideas which people posted which is why i believe if they do it right it will be quite good. (I put in afew of the ideas before they were posted and afew when they were posted in a seperate forum topic). Why don't people actually try hacking it then, i surely will spend quite afew hours trying to on thursday.... What you believe is down to you, it's an opinion. My main point was if we are basing what v3 is going to be like on this then... well … I would wait a few years to buy it. :whistling: @sniko Peoples opinions are welcome, and an opinion is never “Gay” please avoid using language like that when posting. Even if you meant no offence please avoid using it. I agree with what Dayo said. As I said in my first post this is not going to change a reputation like mccodes enough, well not yet. Still I am happy they took the first step can't get anywhere without it. Quote
Dayo Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Well lets just hope they climb to the top of them and not fall down and break there leg. For there customers/players sake Quote
Paul Evans Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 i really do hope the reputation of mc does actually get better it will bring more members protentionally to mwg and more money to mod makers, gfx deisngers and so on. Quote
sniko Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 @Dominion - Sorry for that use of language, no offence intended, and i shall keep away from using that word in the future. @Dayo - Never thought of that side, thanks for reminding me about that issue. I also agree with Pauls' last comment i really do hope the reputation of mc does actually get better it will bring more members protentionally to mwg and more money to mod makers, gfx deisngers and so on. -sniko Quote
ColdBlooded Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 Jordan did a good job administrating MWG and other ventures of MCCodes. However he had other commitments in life and I no longer needed his help, so he left respectfully from the MCCode team. Just returned from a weekend vacation so will get onto fixing em newb bugs right away. Thanks to all who launched into this thread with great discussions, every bit helps. Quote
rulerofzu Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I have one big suggestion. Get a better default theme. Sorry but the current one has and will always look like it was done in microsoft frontpage by a 6yr old in his first how to make a webpage class. Not suggesting you do something amazing as that will lead to people buying uploading and launching a game. But just something that looks better. Even changing the banner would be visually an improvement. Quote
Dayo Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 @ruler of zu I couldn't agree more all it would take is an hour in dreamweaver and Gould have a much better result also even if they cleaned up the header file so it would be easier for people (mainly people new to php) to follow so it is then easier to edit/make your own. Quote
Dominion Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I would agree on the layout being improved if it was a game, however this is being sold as an engine. Functionality before looks in this case simply because every game owner should change the layout to match his/her game anyway. As for making it easier to edit the header, and style yourself... Well yes that should be there anyway. Quote
Paul Evans Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 @ SlimyStud - so im guessing you've seen the code and can say that as a fact? If so post some here would be nice to see... @ layout discussion - The layout is basic because people should change it, if it was good then people would keep it and you'd have 100 games what would look the same although the layout should be easier to edit i do agree with that. A simple css file and some editing of the header could easily acheive that, why not post up a header/style file and get people to use it... it's easier than saying it should be done... Quote

Paul Evans Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 just need the captcha putting on lol @ that though spud yeah strlen in register would be good, it is on the staff panel.. but can't really see anymore since some muppet fedded the staff account (i'd so ban the mwg accont of the newb who did it since they log ips in staff logs) so spud the only one to find anything decent? sniko Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 You need to check whether the "Pick (0-36)" in the roulette feature is numeric. I put in "[]" http://v203.mccodes.com/roulette.php?bet=5&number=%22%5B%5D%22&tresde=425 And it still continued. Not really a bug but a glitch? Quote
Paul Evans Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 love that sniko interesting one... I'm testing it right now myself and ain't found much (considering i found 3 in 2 minutes when i tested 2.0.2c) so somethings gone right but i'm sure ill find something :D Quote
Paul Evans Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 As their been news of a update on this or something because i ain't seeing any of the bugs anyones posted... maybe im just a newb :( lol Can't find anything... Quote

p_T_s Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Well done and thx for all your hard work... I can't wait! Quote
Mystical Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 What files need to be updated for V2.0.3 ? I went to my account today and found that V2.0.3 was sitting there.... Is there a changes list so I can just update the important files? I have about 3 months worth of work into this and really don't want to reinstall the whole thing if I don't need to. Thanks in advance... :) Quote
rulerofzu Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 winmerge compare your 2.0.2c code with the 2.0.3 and merge any modifications. Quote
The Monk Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I've been through a few of the new files and compared them side by side with the old ones, I haven't been through everything but so far this looks like a fairly big step up from 2.0.2, in terms of how 'out of the box ready' it is. Can't wait to see how V3 goes. Quote
rulerofzu Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Its a vast improvement over the previous versions thats for sure. I would have liked to have seen the css out of the header and in a css file. Captcha still sucks! That tresde on the roulette and other places is not 100% foolproof. Quote
