Danny696 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Just wondering what economy you like best when you play a game Thanks Danny696 Quote
Dominion Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 i think its more on the game its self i don't mind a game with lots of 0's on there money but if they ever need to reset due to it i leave resets kill games so as long as its not a false economy your fine Quote
Dayo Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 i like my games to be based on Real Life so a lower economy is a MUST for me look at games like unforgivenwar.com a high economy just kills the game, i use to play it back in beta (when it was just default mccodes with a free header) and played it ALOT (12H a day :S) it just got to the point of giving 1 Billion to a newb for the fun of it and TBH it killed the game in my eyes i prefer games wghere you startwith a few dollars eg $50 then have to work your way up (so $10000 would actuly be good like in RL) Quote
danger boy Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I totally agree with Dayo... I think it should be based on real life. Quote
Haunted Dawg Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I voted. Players have hundreds (1) And that is how i aim to create DeadlyKillah, hard working life just like Real life :P Quote
Dominion Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 i feel the point of games is to get away from the stress of life if i wanted to have no money and worry about paying bills i would spend my real money... Quote
Djkanna Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Yeah, I don't care so much about the economy of games as long as there is always something that I just cannot afford, having everything isn't fun. The only thing that is weird is the games that give you $100 to start with but the first weapon you can buy is like $15000 that makes me thing users are going to get bored real quick. Quote
Equinox Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I said thousands - but that's what I'd allow. So a couple of users may have millions, and so on. So it's a little bit like real life. I mean, when is an energy drink going to cost $15,000 and when does a "Steyr Aug" cost $150,000? Steyr's can range from $2,000 - $10,000. It's just really keeping it real, for me.... Quote
Zero-Affect Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 gah i said millions like a newb didn't read down i thought it would be in ASC order not DESC lol but yeah hundreds would be a better economy. Quote
Danny696 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Hmm, it seems like most people like the game economy the way the real one is :) Quote
Dominion Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 you can't keep a game's money in the 100's sorry but even 100,000 is hard theres always someone (not that i do it  ) that never spends money then give out crap to new players Quote
Dayo Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 you can ie the best crime only gets $35 the worst gets $0.5 (i did have a edited source somewhere that would alow even $0.01 ^^ ) Quote
rulerofzu Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Its all relative. In zu for example there is many ways you can earn a bundle which is why I chose billions in the poll. However some shop items will strip you of a large amount of cash. To complete quests will also do the same. I could have done this to run with 100's or 1000's but i chose a large amount of cash as the players like it. "look at my bank ive got a few billion!!" Quote
Haunted Dawg Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 But, you wan't player's to strive for a billion, not just have it easy! Quote
Dominion Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 i think the thing is with people creating game they forget what its like to be the player i am sorry but if i had 100 on your game my money goes no were and i can't get anything more via donating i will leave plain and simple btw dj is right a game with $100 start and 1st weapon at 1500 i don't enjoy @ hd - yes you do but the player wanted money not some low bank account with nothing in thing about it no money = no fun Quote
Haunted Dawg Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Thus, give your player's $1,000 starting cash and some item's in their inventory, will get them going! :P Quote
Dayo Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Yea the good old starter pack along with 3 donator days, they will be like putty in your hands :P an ecomomy with billions and millions is ok ... if you have to work for it, it gets bad when it only takes you a week to get a million  Quote
sniko Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I used to play a few text based games, and overall, i preferred games with a "middle" economy, with some people rich and some poor, but the rich ones worked for their money Quote
