Sim: 1 is still around, but has been dormant for a bit: mindtoygames.com, and the other has since been sold and the owner has changed it quite a bit: stormcloudcreations.com The two text-based McCodes games I started have since been sold and gone under (not due to any action on my part), and I have one in development that is under wraps for now.

I'm offering my services as a fairly experienced (2 1/2 years) launcher/retooler of McCodes v1/v2 games of all types. If you have a site you've started on, but are stuck what to do with it or an older site you want to bring back up with more ideas/writing/mod installer or tweaker/graphic touchups, etc....i'm your man. My rates are reasonable, and I can join up and help out. Feel free to PM me or email me: [email protected] Overview of me: I've been on the web for 15+ years running various types of ventures, including 2 computer game companies, and I have earned a BA in English and an AA in Computer Science as well. I accept Paypal and fees are dependent on how much I need to do. I also have MSN messenger available: [email protected] Thanks! Derek

I'd like all these answered as well. I have some McCodes PHP skills i'd be willing to share and offer, for a reasonable price, depending on what needs to be done.
-
Great, thanks! I would appreciate that.
-
Well, Sniko, if you ever get time to finish, feel free to email me, i'd be willing to throw a few dollars your way to 'encourage' its development, for my game at least. :)

Yeah, I can see your point, but it kinda always seemed that way. I know if I personally owned or had possession of a property that allows people to create their own MMORPG (fairly) easily, I know i'd be a lot more involved in its day-to-day promotion and excited about it.

Game Engines available via/supported by; this community comparison.

I thought GL had some potential.....Dayo: Still working on V1.0? It got up to 0.8.5, then sorta died off a bit. -
Darn! I really liked where it was going too.
-
Did v2 of this ever get released? I really liked what you did up until this point, and I plan on using this 'Gang' mod in my game in development.
-
Dynamic housing prices would be cool anyhow, even if not related to 'real' real estate markets, hmm. Nice idea though, i'd love to see that mod get done.
-
If a site is poorly designed/no updates, it probably won't get played or have many updates nowadays, that much is true. It takes a really well-run and distinctive site to be successful right now, I think.
-
Yep, when I ran a game, I backed up the DB every few days, the whole game once a week at least. It amazes me how many people (I work as a server admin for a hosting company) don't do this, then blame the host if something happens. It's YOUR site, step up and protect it. :)
-
Exactly my thoughts! If you see a plant you like withering away, you water it, not complain that its dying. :) Maybe start up a really big game design project with MCC and ask for the community's help and guidance?
-
Oh, well, common sense...if its in the bank, I can spend it, if I have it in my hand, I can't. How silly of me. :)
-
I agree about the substance thing...but the landing page and main page in game needs to have some visual appeal, IMHO, otherwise people grow bored rather quickly. It will separate the standard MCCodes game from the pack. Thing #1 for me is: TEST the game! Don't release it with a ton of bugs or dull, unbalanced gameplay. That will send me packing quicker than anything else.
-
Yep.... suffice it to say the same was never played or tested in any fashion.
-
Or the Lucky Boxes, it says you need to have $1,000 to open a box and kicks me out, even though I had $180,000. lol
-
Well that was the other thing, but I didn't want to be mean. :) IMHO, I found the existing design dark, claustrophobic and unappealing.
-
That was quick. Hope they're good at fixing bugs, I found 4 of them in the 3 minutes I played. :)
-
Bidding $10.

Dayo: Progress on getting to 1.0 of this script? :)
-
Curious if you got near your price, a little surprising actually given the work the game would need to really stand out feature wise. Congrats for selling!
-
Nynas is the best gym overall (with some minor mods for balance) IMHO. It's flexible and easy for the player to use and easy to implement.
-
I'd think about the 'taking over as admin to split profits' option myself. I would do that myself. Throwing $1,200 (or more, PLUS hosting and advertising) at a game with the high churn rate you've already had wouldn't be very wise for an investor, IMHO. It's nice looking, but not a ton to do, so first thing I would do is add tons more features, more stuff to do, more goals. Get rid of the high Hospital times early on that tend to kill new visitors. Template is nice. More items, more quests, more depth. I know I could pump some life into the game. Yes, this is an offer (assuming you don't get others). PM me or email me at: [email protected] if you're interested. I'm wanting/looking for a game I can jump in on and improve/add on to.

EMail sent as well. And yes, bug fixing would be included.
