In a nutshell, yeah more than likely.

The template doesn't look to bad to me, good job.

No matter where, they waste a bucket load of cash on the Olympic Games. It's been a while since it's been hosted here, and probably will be a long time before it's hosted here again, so like most countries that have hosted it in the past, we're making a big deal about it. Downside to that is, well everyone in this country is damn near fed up of hearing it and wishing it was over before it's began. I'm generally a follower of the Olympics (IE: I watch it when it's on), I doubt I'll be watching it this time around. I may watch the opening ceremony and specific events that I'm interested in, but as for the rest of it, I don't really care. On that note: GB: 1, NZ: 0. Damn these gals are better than the guys. I move to vote, kick the guys out of the world cup, put the gals in, we may get a little further.

Dark Knight Rises( Spoilers)
Djkanna replied to Unreal's topic in Media Entertainment (FKA Tv Shows)
I don't doubt it. That's just the last one I've seen, I haven't watched them in the specific order though, as I saw the one with Jim Carey (which without a doubt was a lot lighter/more comedic than the previous) before I saw the one with Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwomen. As for the new Superman, I saw the most recent one (I'm guessing 05-09 or in this area), but I've not enjoyed the series since Superman 1 & 2, 3 was okay but a little meh. -
Dark Knight Rises( Spoilers)
Djkanna replied to Unreal's topic in Media Entertainment (FKA Tv Shows)
I've not seen a Batman film since Michelle Pfeiffer was catwomen (and damn!!! *although I'm sure Anne Hathaway can hold her own in that suit ;) ). Batman films aren't really an interest for me (nor are most superhero films, since Superman 2) I didn't watch The Dark Knight or Batman Begins, so I doubt I'd be watching the third. Like I say I've not seen it, but I doubt it doesn't have a plot, one thing most superhero films are good for are the standard good vs evil in an epic battle plot. I like the idea of Micheal Caine, I'm guessing he's a good fit for that butler dude. At the end of the day, if you enjoyed it, then the film did it's purpose. Now I wonder will it do as good in the box-office (and subsequent award shows etc) as The Dark Knight? -
I think the only design pattern I use willingly, is the singleton pattern. Found it relatively useful to use as a quick wrapper for PDO/MySQLi etc.

Just out of curiousity, is the password that you've left within the code have any meaning? If so, better change it (or at least remove it from the code).
-
I'm personally happy about this. Good job!

I like it, I only followed the story for a short while, but great job. I like the fact you allow contributions from the players on the 'story', so we can edit a page (unless this is unintentional, then oops.)

I understand the whole 'making the web multilingual', however just looking at the domain name gives a good indication it's quite possible it won't be in English.

Well they do, albeit seperatly.

Well I know that, just was imagining the sketch. ;)

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `staffaps` ( `ID` INT(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, `about` TEXT NOT NULL, `exp` TEXT NOT NULL, `position` INT(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0 #Probably don't need int(11) but hey. ); Seems to work fine.
-
Try; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `staffaps` ( `ID` INT(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, `about` TEXT NOT NULL, `exp` TEXT NOT NULL, `position` INT(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, #Probably don't need int(11) but hey. ); INSERT INTO `settings` ( `conf_id`, `conf_name`, `conf_value`) VALUES (null, 'stafflock', 'Locked');

I'm not sure, would this have been better with Ronnie Barker? :/ I like Harry but I think it would have been a cool two ronnies sketch.

What's "CSS-Securing"? - just curious.

Interesting, thanks for taking the time out to do this.

I think you mean bug free software, not entirely sure if a code free software is possible. :p

Balls, any chance of me hiring you to do all my explaining for me? :o

Muahahaha. Run the query first; then pass the result to mysql_num_rows(); in this case $num = mysql_num_rows(mysql_query( ... ));

Now here I would agree if it wasn't for the most overused and insignificant debate, of single quotes vs double quotes. I'd like to make it clear, I'm not disagree-ing with it, I just don't think in everyday use the difference in which using one or the other is an issue, therefore on a "Basics of PHP" guide, I don't think telling someone to use single quotes because it's faster is appropriate. So yes in this situation I think debating on which you should use is silly.

No one writes perfect code at all. But that's no excuse for not testing now is it?

Instead of using an mp3 player and uploading all these mp3 files (which may or may not be legal), use the video player that YouTube supplies and just hide the video part, that way you have a lot more choice for music than your music collection.
-
Use YouTube and hide the video interface? Seems like an easy approach to getting a plethora of music on your site without having to upload dozens of potentially copyrighted music files. Then again maybe the hiding of the interface is against YT's terms for using the video player.

My link was at the print vs echo, not at the quotes. As for what I said, wasn't mean't to be taken as 'you are not allowed an opinion', it was meerly stating that the speed difference is so little the fact that your using " single is faster than double so use single " is silly. Like I said last time, use whichever you find easiest, but don't worry about the speed difference, as 99.8% you won't see a negative or a positive effect from using one or the other. Also on that note there is no right or wrong way.
