Raven1992 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 i decided to remove the radio station idea and jus use my mp3 files and i want to know how to make one for my game site it be a lot easier for the site to load any help would be good Quote
Dayo Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 There may be copyright issues if it's not your own creation, check out the legal side before uploading mp3s to the net Quote
Raven1992 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 yes i know that but as long as i say all music is not made by me i done it on a radio station and had no problem Quote
a_bertrand Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 You may use the audio tag for it: http://temp.nowhere-else.org/mmy However you will need both MP3 and OGG to make it compatible with IE, FF and Chrome. And no, you don't have the right to re-distribute music even if you say you didn't do it. Radio have to pays fees for doing their jobs, I doubt you pay the same fees yourself. So clearly you do illegal business unless you use open content musics. Quote
Raven1992 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 what u expect i work on habbo radio stations i jus do my bit they pay for the rest Quote
a_bertrand Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 That doesn't mean you can use their song for your own project. That doesn't work sorry. Quote
a_bertrand Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Copyrights laws are laws ;) But feel free to do whatever you want, but don't come here to cry afterward if you get caught. Maybe you will never be, or maybe you will... Quote
Raven1992 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 i am willing to take the risk now would itbe nice if u can tell me how to make a mp3 player on my site Quote
JakeB Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Just use google. There are literally MILLIONS of results for a simple search for what you want. Quote
Raven1992 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 true but half of them are to download mp3 songs Quote
a_bertrand Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I told you how to add an mp3... read my post at least... and check the sources of the page I gave you. If you can't even do that... sorry but I doubt I will even continue to answer to your posts. Quote
a_bertrand Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I see, even reading is hard: http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/42025-how-to-add-a-mp3-player-to-your-site?p=278988&viewfull=1#post278988 Quote
Djkanna Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Use YouTube and hide the video interface? Seems like an easy approach to getting a plethora of music on your site without having to upload dozens of potentially copyrighted music files. Then again maybe the hiding of the interface is against YT's terms for using the video player. Quote

Seker Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 You don't seem to understand a single piece of help being tossed your way. I don't know how you think you'll be able to run a game if you cannot understand the simplest of instructions. Quote
Djkanna Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 ?? huh what u on aout Instead of using an mp3 player and uploading all these mp3 files (which may or may not be legal), use the video player that YouTube supplies and just hide the video part, that way you have a lot more choice for music than your music collection. Seker Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 There is another way, though I confess I don't know how to do it. Could just stream from sites such as Pandora and the like. Also, on a gaming network I've been part of for some time now, they used to have it set up so that you could link to a song on certain sites and the song would play when anyone visited your profile. Note that, for obvious security reasons, this was eventually discontinued, and I wouldn't advise it, but yeah, there are ways to do it. Quote
thefinalhero Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Also, if you even did add mp3 songs to your site, you would have to worry about bandwidth skyrocketing. I am assuming that every time a player clicks a link they would go to a new page, and the song would have to download again (should the browser cache not hold it). An easy 4MB mp3 would tear apart bandwidth on a limited server Quote
Octet Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I'm not a lawyer but from what I gather then embedding youtube videos and hiding the player is fine but that doesn't make you immune with copyright issues. Although your using content from another site you may still be responsible for it as you specifically added it yourself and so you are now posting the material instead of it being from a third party source. Uridium Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 few things to concider... 1 when users switches between pages does the MP3 auto start cos that could become annoying 2 users on slower connections may experience mega lagg till the MP3 has fully loaded... 3 What if your users dont like the music your playing that could put them off your game.. Quote
Seker Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Worst case, embed Pandora or Youtube in an iframe somewhere on your site. Or have it static, and iframe your game if you don't want interruptions in the music. Quote
