MCC games

Hi all,

I am wondering something for the past many months and now finally I have decided to express my thoughts to the community. I am curious on the fact that how many MCCode powered, inspired, restructured and stock games are out there which are successful to the scale of medium to really big.

When I say powered, I mean that they operate on core engine files of MCC v1 or/and v2 or/and Redux engines with some or many new features/expansions.

Inspired means; a developer saw and experienced MCCodes then got inspired to use a MCCode engine source to "recode" a MMORPG engine of similar sort.

Restructured means, they used a MCCode game engine as a platform and went through each source file one by one and revamped/restructured it. This includes even if the engine still has 1 line of MCC engine source code in there.

Finally, stock games meaning the game is completely out of the box, bought from mccodes.com and somehow got successful (wonders of marketing perhaps).

The reason I'm wondering about this is because I bump into many MCCodes games online. Some are big, some are still growing and some are just dead (unlicensed outdated copies). All the medium-to-big scale games, I always spend good few hours on there studying and taking notes on how the game got so big. I talk to the game owners personally also. How the engine helped the owner(s)/developer(s) produce such successful game for players? My studies answers many more questions.

Point being, I am compiling information so that the next mccodes engine can make the challengers easier which successful game owners/developers took. We have taken on board many problems/issues and found the solutions for it (thanks to the MWG community). We still aim to continue to find problems and look forward to finding solutions for it. Basically, I want to study points that makes games successful.

So, post any successful games out there or were out there which you think runs/ran on MCC. Don't have to be 100% sure whether its mccodes or not. Let me study that.

I appreciate everyones interest in the MMORPG community. Enjoy it!

I come across this all the time with my own game rulerofzu.com . Not many players so its not deemed a success but strong tight community. Of course players come and go some return some dont.

Success from my point of view is satisfaction and of course money. Those that play love the game and we have a lot of fun and I enjoy the challenge of making it interesting for them and of course coding the new features.

Money wise rulerofzu has earned in excess of £7000 over its two year life span and is still earning. So a success? I think so and I didnt even create the game for the money it was a challenge to see if I could.

Initially it was MC2/GRPG with BOE and then changed after that and is still changing.

I will be creating a blog here soon about my next modification Zu Empires. A year in the making and also after two years I think a redesign to keep it fresh is in order which is being done at the moment.

That's wonderful rulerofzu! I have checked out rulerofzu.com just a week or so ago. It's surely impressive and I did consider it as a successful MMORPG.

I look forward for your blog on Zu Empires and checking that mod out thoroughly once its released. Perhaps we could have a chat about your ventures of game developments sometime. I have many questions.

Thanks for sharing information about your game rulerofzu.com.

I use MCCODES for Thug Battle aswell.

The game is customized and no where near resembling the stock version. I have spent just over 2 years developing and expanding the game.

I started the game as a simple computer hobby but it has grown into somewhat like a job for me.

Depends on what you are classing all your above on.

I launched a stock V2 game, face lifted it, recoded it within an inch of its life to this point its barely recognisable.. 3000+ users later, averaging $3000 a month in donator sales , was sold for a 5 figure sum late last year.

Total profit > $30,000.

Was it sucessful for me, not as sucessful as I would have liked, we had a very strong community to begin with which was reflected in sales and not only that but community spirit. However we made many mistakes being a first game launch. These mistakes of course have been dealt with but maybe too late.

We all know that some people have run into problems with the "owners" of this game. Meaning that they have tried to get others (succeeded in some cases) taken down because of so called copyright infringement etc.. That having been said, Immortal Night seems to be doing alright for itself as well as Reign of Blood.

Pretty popular too.

I don't really know of any games that use MCCodes, that are public so I cannot contribute.

Although the guys & gals I play games with, have recently(kinda) started playing Thug Battle and some erotica styled game (yes I said it, it's a pawn game), which I think is based upon MCC it certainly is similar.

Then there's the mentioned RoZ, which is also fairly popular, and man it has Dragons what's not to love?

Ones that look like they're going to be popular has to be Year1920.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, it's an old game (it's been on here previously) and just as crap as the others.

http://www.thepornstarwars.com/ (NSFW)

Clarification: By crap, I mean to me it's just like the rest, although granted it has a somewhat unused theme, here. However I am sure there's people that enjoy it and can give a better review than "crap".

Newttster, if its the issue I think you was referring too, our images were used, not even slyly, you flat out copied our icons, our ad system and our menu. These were all designed for us to be used by us. The site got issued a warning, didnt comply, we gave them another one and the admin said he would change it. Changing the colors does not count as removing our material. We issued a DCMA

Also there's 2 others.. both too very successful! pimp-hand.com is one. There aren't many erotic mafia based games out there so whatever there is are very successful games interms of player base.

Why are you saying "you" as if you are implying that I copied something from you. I don't even have a game up and running as of yet. There has been a long standing discussion amongst certain sites that the owners of Immortal Night have tried to get some games removed with some success, what the reasons were for it is not really my concern. That is all I was stating. Having said that, Immortal Night appears to be doing quite well for itself.

@ SRB ... who is Josh? And are you referring to me or STD as being Josh or myself?
