a_bertrand Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I would not buy such thing on ebay... Find some cheap custom build on internet or build yourself your own PC and be happier. For example this PC doesn't come with Windows... So forget about gaming until you buy windows and install it yourself (BTW buying a windows copy without a PC cost about the double). Quote
Dawsy Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 was just thinking this as it has a 99.7 % ration on ebay and over 2500 postage and packaging ? do you know if that graphics card will play crysis 2 and that Quote

Dawsy Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 i am unsure with graphics cards and all that the Crysis 2 says one like mine with lower number does that mean mins is newer and will be able to do it still / sorry im still noob about this stuff Quote
a_bertrand Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 As said, I don't trust ebay sales, specially if something doesn't work well. Forget about all the rating and such. The graphic card should do the trick but no OS, so add about 150 GBP for windows (not sure about the price). Quote
Dawsy Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Ah i already got a OS from cousen he is a manager of ict in this company fixing there ict problems he got me a copy for free , XD if was not on ebay and in a store would you get this kind of pc ? Quote
lucky3809 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Yes that has a very good graphic card the one in the link. As for buying on ebay make sure the company and person is legit... Quote
a_bertrand Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Which means you will have an illegal copy of windows... congratulations... Quote

No such thing. Yes you can purchase volume copies of windows but they are sold to establishments and are only for use within that company. Cannot be distributed outside and only valid for install for how many they purchased. I have known universities get into a lot of trouble for over installing and such illegal distribution. All of those components are cheap. Even cheaper if you buy them in volume. The motherboard I would expect to last 2 years if your lucky. You would be much much better off to save and get something with higher components or as Alain stated build it yourself. Finally....iMac? really lmao... Quote
lucky3809 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 lol. I would never go with an imac I stick with Dell or Sony... Quote
Dawsy Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 what becouse my cousen is giving me a version of it , when did i say it was illegal shiz he just has loads of stuff that they have and all that thats how i got my furt desktop was of him lets just say its nice to have rich relatives lol XD Quote

The Spirit Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 AB where would you find a relatively cheap custom build PC on the net? Quote
a_bertrand Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 The spirit: Just use google, as it depends where you live ;) But you usually find little shops or others which are more than willing to create a system for you. Quote
Dave Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I especially wouldn't get the PC you built. Having 8GB of ram would be pointless with a AMD Athlon II 250 3.0GHz Processor. You're better of going for a custom build but it may cost a tad more. You could also opt for Linux and run all the games under Wine, which isn't ideal but from tests I've done the game play is stable on a high end system. Quote
Jeff Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Personally I wouldn't go with the link in your first post, its not good value at all (don't be ticked into thinking its a gaming PC because of the way the case looks). was just thinking this as it has a 99.7 % ration on ebay and over 2500 postage and packaging ? do you know if that graphics card will play crysis 2 and that The processor and graphics card are not that good really. You would need the graphics settings all on the lower end of the scale, having said that i think Crysis is one of the more demanding games? so i couldn't be sure. You have to take into account what settings you want to play the game at and you screen resolution so its no that easy to say. Why not look around for better deals? or maybe build your own PC? Maybe take a look: http://www.easypc-uk.com/5-budget-student-systems I know a few people who have brought PC's from them without any problems and they are much better value Quote
rulerofzu Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) overclockers.co.uk or something similiar in your country even if you dont wish to get a full system just use it as a reference for the parts. They do bundles for parts. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-041-OP&tool=3 Built to run crysis Edited May 2, 2011 by rulerofzu Quote

Brought a nice x4 from them a while back, best support I've had in a while. Might be slightly pricier but you're paying for quality. Quote
Djkanna Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 http://www.cclonline.com/ They have a warehouse in Bradford, I've got quite a few parts from there, including my sexi-case. http://www.maplin.co.uk/ They have a large super-store in Leeds city centre. Though Maplin's is more for getting computers rather than parts, though you can get parts. I'm now hoping you do live in the UK I kinda took off after reading Ruler's post. :P Quote
