Mccode + Ravan Code ( License Issue )

Hi friends

I have purchased ravan mmorpg code from here for cheap but when i found out it is same as mccode i have purchased a license for v2 from mccodes.com .

I dont know abcd about coding or designing a layout nor can hire a coder for big bucks

My question is if i have a valid license to use mccode v2 can i use the theme and files from what i got from ravan script since both codes are same and use mccode license.

raven code is a pirated code of mccodes. So unless you have a true mccodes license you do not have a valid license.

Alain could he not argue that he bought a licence from ravenscript therefore being a customer and not aware of the issues with raven script is version is kind of valid if MC make ravenscript pay for all sold copies (i would).

does paypal not have a time cap on stuff like this? you let them sell for years people wont always be able to get there money back and there no guarantee that the host will agree to take down a site thats been up that long i would be asking why has it taken this long?

Paypal is 60 days and then it would be registered as a complaint against the seller but nothing would actually be done.

 

If you want real swift action bypass the host...go direct to the datacenter and pull them up on their tos and get the server taken down.

What if they were on a offshore server, basicly you wouldn't do anything...

He sure does have a licence, isn't his fault if the mccode creators let it get out of hang letting raven.info selling pirated mccode.

I do own a valid mccode v2 license as stated in my opening post.

After purchasing mcccode , i did try to set up a website but my site got hacked like 7 times in 3 days so had to take down the site and use raven code instead.

I just wanted to know since I own the mccode license is there any problem in using the raven code which i found is much much more secure than the default mccode.

Not interested in the theme but i need atleast some security for my game so 10 yr old script kiddies cannot hack and ruin my site . I have found most of the coders in here would charge like 2? per file or 300? for entire script which I cannot afford .

I would rather never file a paypal dispute and even recommend them to my friends because they helped me in setting up my website , secured the code , helped me in installing and fixing few modifications which i assume 10 times more worth than just the 15$.

For me if i have not found them first and bought your buggy script for 300$ i would definitely have filed a charge back for selling me unsecured buggy code. I know they are selling pirated copy of your script but atleast they offer me support and bug fixes you guys cannot provide.

My question to the developer is why would you even sell the program if you cannot provide some basic security and that too for 300$ which is not a small amount of money at all .

mccodes v2 is now only $100 and if you own a vaild copy there wont be anything wrong with using raven script (as long as there not using paid for mods made by Freelancers) btw raven script does not look much more secure then v2 just has more stuff added to it all free mods btw

Ravan code is identical to McCodes V2.

So I'm not seeing how you feel it's "safer"

The only thing they changes with Ravan script was the Banner and mccodes to Ravan.

I must agree with rulerofzu, take a step higher.

I mentioned somewhere something about their live support being worse than actual email contact. They must be a really poorly managed company, so they might not even have a abuse department.

Taking the matter to the data center; I don't know anything about what their response time to this should be, but I know if within a certain time frame the demand is not met they're actual server(s) can be taken off the grid at the data center's. This would of course, depend on the host's host Terms of Service agreement.

Hmmm...I leave in Romanian and if i have a warez licence from mccodes you cant do anything. You cant take down my site or something. This is romanian :)) Biggest warez land, all are free. Thats why paypal dont accept romanian. What ever, i have a licence for mccodes and ravan's to.

Well I doubt you can't do anything as Romania is part of the EU and therefore it must follow the EU laws and for example the copyright laws ;)

Yet it could be harder for US people to act than in other EU countries, that can well be.

Really, whee don't care about copyrights, what they like, they use. And, nobody can go in Bucharest for example and to say to one man you cant use this cuz is copyrighted. You right, whee are in EU, but EU for me is nothing, if i want to use something, is use, without permissions. If you see a script, music, movie in USA and you like it that you buy it but if i see something what i like, i call to warez... :))

Also even if what you are saying was correct... your host would also need to be in your country. Sorry, but you can be taken down if you're using raven script.

No, that just writing. I show you. I gonna buy a host in Romanian, and i use Ravan or Mccodes warez script. Than you can make a complaint to that firma, they respond to you by "Have a nice day mister, this is romania, Bye" :) Biggest warez forums are hosed in romanian.

Actually they would respond more along the lines of

You are not a representative of mccodes.com and have no right to file any kind of complaint, however thanks for informing us”

I have no idea were most warez sites are hosted nor do I really care enough to look it up...

Bottom line is it's illegal, however if you're saying hosts ignore the law... You would just go to the next step after telling them. Try, and google to find out what that would be ;)

Difference is forums do not host any of the files themselves they are just a resource and not liable for the content. Again the small print comes into play which Dom has already stated once today that nobody reads!

Uploading the script to your purchased or free webspace is not the same thing. As your hosting illegally obtained files. Chances are they would remove the files if contacted by a representative of mccodes.com.
