  1. Sometimes, mark up speaks louder than words. https://play.tailwindcss.com/Ouat9tGIkT
  2. Won't even lie - I saw the thread, clicked the link and was shocked that the url didn't load anything -- then saw the post was from 2012!
  3. Oh noes, I must fear th3 DMCA and th3 FBIz!
  4. If I had it, I'd send it over. Licensed, blah blah - MCCodes is basically abandonware at this point in time.

Is it really though? Why instantiate a class, to then not include the functions and call them outside of the class. Class in the same file as random functions too, is poor design. Code is sloppy, not to mention the fact it’s completely irrelevant to the entire post. Not PSR compliant either. Slightly better than mccodes πŸ˜›

With the above, perhaps consider making this a system variable to enable/disable. As an owner of a game with shared housing, I have to admit that it creates a lot of drama since people split the cost, then divorce, and all hell breaks loose, etc. Much easier to not have shared housing sometimes, however, makes sense to have this owner configurable, so each game created can decide based on their own thoughts.

The packages required by Laravel is probably a good starting point if you only use the main ones: https://laravel.com/docs/7.x#server-requirements From that list, I'd normally install the following on new servers - all of them, obviously, if you are using laravel. BCMath Ctype Fileinfo JSON Mbstring PDO XML

You managed to resist for 14 days; or did it take you that long to collect enough shit to talk? Carry on doing you, home girl.
  10. Laravel, Tailwind and Alpine - getting no critique from me. That's my daily development stack. Noticed you plan to use docker though - are you a windows/linux user? If you use a Mac, valet (https://laravel.com/docs/9.x/valet) is decent. Combine it with homebrew for installing packages, and it's a breeze to work with. If Linux, there's even Valet Linux (https://cpriego.github.io/valet-linux/) which works similar, but without homebrew as you can just load in packages as its... well, linux. If you're on windows... I don't envy you! πŸ˜„
  11. Out of sheer curiosity, since rebuilding MCCodes in Laravel is something on my roadmap, did you also fix up the database to remove field prefixes, poorly named tables, etc?

Opinions are like buttholes. We all have one, and most of them stink.

The latter was correct. I'm not better than this πŸ˜‚ That said, no, I expect nobody to support anything past a 12 months initial period. I had my previous account deleted, which wiped my old content, so there's no visible history but me and you knocked heads a lot over bugs and support. The main one being the gang armoury that had duplication glitches and recall problems when someone left a gang, etc. At the time, under MDShare, I was staff with Scarlet and Seanybob, so felt someone needed to step in and resolve the bugs - I did that. May have been 15 years ago, but it left a bitter taste, you know? However, it's worth noting that in my initial thread, I did end with "That said, that's hopefully history and we've all aged and maybe grown some. I look forward to seeing fully supported additions to people's games.". You've now read some of my previous posts, so maybe you can see how that is as positive as it's going to get. πŸ˜›

Comment just to make my edit completely visible above, unlike some who like to sly edit their comments.

Oh, I apologise. Bend over and I'll kiss it too. Edit I guess we are playing the editing game, with the additional "suppose not everyone has grown some". I did say that I hoped we had grown and I really meant, I hope some can admit their faults of the past and do better. Let's deflect to me being "unfriendly" (I'm not here to stroke anybodies ego), when you could have admitted your mismanagement of supporting YOUR mods which YOU got paid for and left ALL buyers with bugs in their games. Sure, unfriendly. I don't wish to be friendly to anyone who doesn't man up for screwing everyone who ever purchased their work. If you want your ass kissed, feel free to hit up others on this thread.

Jesus, is there a butt-kissing session in progress? My memory isn't jaded - bugged mods that effectively went unsupported until people like myself stepped in to fix bugs for people. That said, that's hopefully history and we've all aged and maybe grown some. I look forward to seeing fully supported additions to people's games.
  17. Most people who frequent these forums were once in your position, and most have been burnt at some point. You are going to find yourself in a position where you won't retain players, because bugs will come in and because you can't/won't code, you are relying on someone else - that'll be your downfall. 1) The chances are, you'll have no money to pay someone to fix the bugs. 2) With known bugs, you'll quickly find nobody pays to play, which causes further emphasis on point 1 above. Honestly, don't bother if you aren't willing to get your hands dirty yourself.
  18. I did the same for the Annonymous dude just over a year ago - he never did anything with it. I'm holding no breath here either if I'm being honest. Managed to cop a laptop, hosting and domain on these forums, yet still asking for more stuff - clearly not trying to achieve anything with what's already been provided, pro bono.
  19. As Canjucks said, it's already been sorted and paid for, for you. I bought the domain for you, and it currently sits on my account and DNS points to Canjucks hosting. http://blinderscity.com/
  20. Yeah, I have to agree too. As one of the first 200 people on the forum back in the days of Criminal Existence, I've watched a lot of people come and go. I learned a lot in those earlier years from people who just had a similar passion for game development as myself, but Dave hit the nail on the head - the internet grew up. People from the active days now have children, jobs, drug addictions, or whatever other reason they no longer delve into this world. Some even decided development wasn't for them after all, perhaps after achieving degrees in other fields, or just boredom. Who knows. I actually miss some people, like Scarlet, Deception, Seanybob etc - all very good at what they did, and left an imprint on me for different reasons. The nostalgia is half the reason I won't let these new noobs talk stupid about MC Codes being rubbish etc. It's not that it's not rubbish - it really is, but that rubbish code inspired a whole bunch of people to game, write code, and help one another. The quality of the code is what kept us needing to fix things, create updates/modifications and forced conversation... and even gave some of us the stepping stones into being full-time professional developers. I won't deny that the tumbleweed blowing through here lately, leaves me with a little sadness.
  21. blinderscity.com is now registered. If you want to send me the DNS to send to, I'll point it for you now. If you sign up to namecheap, I'll figure out how to push it to your account too, although, might be delayed for 90 days as some registrars won't instantly let them be tranferred. Either way, transfer now or in 90 days (or whenever between, or after) - it's yours.
  22. So, I repeat:
  23. Do you know the domain you wish to have ?
  24. You don't say πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  25. Assume the facts: Most players will play from mobile. The percentage will probably be 80% or more. Some of the remaining 20% or so will be playing from an apple computer of some sort. I don't use a windows system, so can't comment. That means most of your users have emoji's built into their phones/computers that they are far more familiar with using. Save the headaches - change the database field to an utf8mb4 (Enable multibyte (mb) support) type and let them use what they have. Most people won't use any custom ones as much as the others because the subset we use is programmed into how we speak already - much like our spoken languages are.
