How is it harmful to new coders? If anything its telling them not to panic after reading a post saying your code will be faster if you do it like this so they rush off change pages of code and then discover that actually they have saved 0.0006 ms wahoo!!! If anything its really telling coders to do your research if you wish to know the difference between print and echo, for and foreach , keep your code clean and keep learning that is all.

Just got a desktop from Ebay for my kids. AMD Bulldozer, 12GB ram, 500GB 7200rpm HD with a decent case, gigabyte mb and nice graphics card with windows 7 os. Less than £400 which compared to the costs for the bits individually was a nice deal. I swapped out the PSU with a better one reducing the cabling and swapped the cpu fan also replacing the cheap compound with a higher spec to prolong the life of the machine. I use windows 7 laptop for a number of work reasons non programming related its similiar to this one here http://www.notebookguru.de/en/Notebooks/Guru-STORM-IV.html with 2 x 360 SSD drives one for the os and one for programs. You get what you pay for. Its best to look at benchmarks for your needs some i5 cpu's out perform i7 cpu's for example. Do your research and know what your looking for.

Thats what I currently charge and get paid. If your in the UK then its also plus VAT @ 20% I know you can only charge $10-$20 for your work but some of us are more established and busier than that. As for coders from freelancer and india. Yeah ive seen the code they output for $10-$20. Its not great.

You write the code You test the code You fix the code which could be revisions, bug fixes You release the code There done properly first time. Is that difficult? Year1920 has yet to be released for want of an example. Overdue yes. But why release it unless its ready. I would be surprised if this wasnt the case. Wrong you should do it properly first time and then not have to fix it afterwards which would be the case if you tested your code rather than waiting for clients or non clients to come along and point out the errors.

I think more what DJK meant was the difference is so small its not worth saying about which it isnt. As for doing things the right way well thats a different matter and yet to be seen :P

Remove the link from the mainmenu file delete or rename the forum.php file to forum.old

I would highly recommend a re-think on your error handling. From what ive seen from testing if you say use html where you cannot use html on a form input you get a mysql database error as the input is not allowed. Thats really not a very good way of handling it.

That was exactly the point Alain. Mccodes, GL, Grpg is basic PHP. Which is why many find it easy to use. They have a small learning curve and then can basically repeat for anything throughout the engine. When it comes to ezRPG, horizons (rip) and NWE people that have not continued to try and develop their skills in programming find it confusing and difficult to understand and whilst they would like to use it dont feel they can so dont. This tutorial will aid them in understanding and is provided as a resource. I could have chosen GL or Grpg instead but they simply do not have the numbers to make it worth my while in writing the tutorial I am a busy person.
