You shouldn't overwrite the superglobal($_GET in this case). Put the end, cleaned, result into its own variable.

In any specific browser?

Everyone I know said destiny lacked a story. Online play was good, and it looked amazing, but without anything to actually do a few hours in. Same with battlefront now. I got that because I'm hyped for the new star wars film... Where is the story? 501st in battlefront 2 was good, and it's missing the galactic conquest. :(

Maybe this time have links to past work or a set number of other members vouching before someone can make the list.

Bugs/Errors/ Suggestions for MWG community as a whole.
Dominion replied to Sim's topic in Feedback and Site Support
Staff are never going to stop having an opinion as long as they treat everyone fairly I don't see an issue with this. Having said that... it might be time to look at the staff members. I took at least 1/2 year away from the site, and came back to an account that was still classed as staff. Djkanna did the same. If they are not active it might be time to remove them from the public list, and enforce new rules on posting if that is what current members feel is needed. As for the forums themselves I feel focusing on one product is not the right approach. The biggest problem with the site has always been it's dependants on MCcodes, but that was also the biggest force for new members. If MCC are not going to be active(unsure if they plan any future products) then attracting other active projects will help MWG be it NWE(currently on a different forum, and under new ownership) or simply making sure their are a few active members on-line willing to help with development problems over a few different languages. If that's the case advertising on Facebook(for free or paid) will help attract members. If the focus was to move towards Node or something like it I would highly suggest finding a few dedicated members who are willing to help the section get started. I am, for the record, in favour of shifting focus to more modern types of game design. This would be harder to attract people for as we have no content linked to it already. a_bertrand did try for a long time to move the site towards C# for example, but hit a wall when people didn't seem to want to move away from the text engines, and no new members were joining the site. Articles on this site have also been highly neglected. The last one having been done it 2012, and yet it's been the first page people see on MWG since we moved to VB. -
New web development forum with a section for game engines
Dominion replied to IllegalPigeon's topic in Web Developement
It's not so much that people try to make PHP something it's not, but judge it for not being more then it is. It's designed for web development, and as an easy to use script language. Wishing it was C#/C++ doesn't make sense to me. Just pick the right language for the job in the first place. In any case good luck with your website. Sim has his own as well that's been open for a while. I would buy up the .com domain as well. .io is an Indian ocean reference to the British territory with Diego Garcia on it. Won't effect anything just an interesting side not for the people who think it means "input/output". :p -
I forgot about seanybob's website. :)

I don't have a copy myself. Do Mccodes have license keys? Maybe they could match that to your copy?

Can't recover your old paypal?

PayPal don't check anything do they? Super secure... unless you spend money then we don't care. O.o

Like I said I haven't seen it in a long time, but if it still uses Magic Quotes I would worry. They have never been a way to secure PHP. They were a flop on that front. The idea was good, but one feature fixes everything approach never works. All it does is addslashes() everything. http://php.net/manual/en/security.magicquotes.php The E-mail comment was aimed at CB, and dabs. Not the staff members that check the forums anyway. I tagged you and Dave because I figured you would check the forums, and get the notification the site gives you.

KyleMassacre seems to be supporting Mccodes so maybe he could check your old E-mail and update the account. Also try Dave Macaulay , Dabomstew , and ColdBlooded . I really hope every tag gives them an E-mail. CB and dabs might answer... Anyway since it's using the buy function you could post that. Don't use a header.php script to check things. A lot of "quick fix" codes went around when Mccodes came out, and since. They have never been good ideas. Magic quotes have never been a working part of PHP. Please don't use them. Even more so if it means using such an old PHP version.

This should have been patched. Have you download the latest version? It should be fairly simple if it wasn't. Check, and sanitize the $_GET before passing anything. http://php.net/manual/en/filter.filters.validate.php If it's been updated to use mysqli use prepared statements, but something tells me they haven't updated for newer versions. If you need help fixing the specific problem I'll need to see more. I haven't seen an mccodes file in a long time.

Ensure error reporting is on. http://php.net/manual/en/function.error-reporting.php

Can't argue with that. Been checking the forums again for about two weeks, and I'm incredibly disappointed. Not only is the site dying, but there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to restart it. Probably because the owners Dabomstew and ColdBlooded vanished... again. It's sad. This was always a small community, but it always had good members. Most of them seem to have either left or just lurk in the background, and when you do that eventually they just stop lurking.

My first venture into apps was doing a an app for people to check their accounts on an online based game. They don't have to be different things. More people play games on their phones now then every before.

How did this go from me telling you an order was delivered to my bin to calling people bad programmers? Facebook found it funny. :(
-
^This. If you're bored of it there isn't much a language can do to convince you it's fun again. If you really want something interesting in PHP I'm sure you would be able to find something new to play with.

Clash of clans. It's all I actually play right now. Work colleague got me into it.

The problem with PHP is people try to make it something it's not. Well its come leaps and bounds from where it was back in php4's day it's still there for the main purpose of creating functional websites (for example this one). If you want something more advanced PHP isn't the way to go, fair enough, but PHP itself is as boring as you make it. I always thought Python was better, but that might be because it's where I started. You always have that memory of the first time you develop something.

Today I called a delivery service up to see where my item is. The E-mail said they had left it in a "secure location" after their "attempted" delivery. They left it in a brown container in front of my house. Yes that would be my bin. My bins are collected once a week. It's now empty. They are replacing the item, but with a different courier service. True story.

I've had them off for a long time. Ever since a few years ago when people started having signatures longer then their actual posts. PHP has always been strange. It's also always been one of the easier web languages to pick up. Think of how many people used, and hated Java at the same time. :p Been away for a while. I'm looking at opening a game following through with the plans I had at the start of the year, but I doubt I will do much beyond planning until after Christmas. I've been around on the android boards, but nothing major. Most of my time been taken up with other stuff. Be careful. I hear others working on that project have been terminated.

Theforbiddenage.com looked good(I just looked at the old thread). Best of luck with it. Did you drop the GangsterLegend recode? That layout looks very good. Free plug for your forums. :p Cheat code network? Best of luck with your local business. Starting one up is long hours, but being your own boss is second to none in my opinion.

Title says it all really. Anyone working on anything interesting?
