I've seen this before if I recall correctly you need to check that your database details are still configured and the database has a user. Although could be completely going down the wrong rabbit hole.

Then turn on error reporting and report back what the actual error is. A generic 500 error page doesn't help us to help you.

If you do not know how to enable any type of error logging, and need help with that; we'll need some server information - at a minimum, relevant software versions - to help direct to the correct locations to enable error logs (or view them)

if you have cpanel on your host goto 

 

go into cpanel with yourhost.com/cpanel

then find

MultiPHP INI Edit icon click it
from there dropdown select HOME DIRECTORY
and make sure DISPLAY_ERRORS is ENABLED

then click APPLY at bottom
