I see what your all saying, I just cant seem to find any active games recently. Just lead to me wondering if there were any active games any more.

Perhaps change your environment. From desktop to tablets and mobile.

Yeah, I'm using my tablet now, and the apps are very good, but I do have a feeling that apps are taking the users away from the text based gaming industry.

That's not a text-based game though, on this subject it's a great game.

As for text-based games, people still build them, people still play them. It's not as booming as it once was, but there's still a lot of new/old games out there doing well for themselves.

Mobile apps aren't really taking anything away, it's the next-gen version of text-based games, just as the internet (ala:MMORPG) was the next-gen to the text-based (yet graphical) MUD games.

I thought I hated minecraft too. But, after playing it a few times I decided it wasn't so bad. If only it were possible to have kick-ass graphics and not be limited to blocks for a game like this.

Well it is possible, just not for Minecraft (in a sense of its player-base), generally speaking those that enjoy Minecraft enjoy it because it's focus is more on the gameplay than on the aesthetics, well that and you can build neat things.

I think games is not just pass time activity its create much knowledge and encourage to your mind. We are using computer, tab, cell etc and these all products have games option, when we feel bore then we can play easily any where. No age limit require for any game if you are a good player then you can face to other.

The only games I've recently been played are Borderlands and GTA: SA with the Multi Theft Auto plugin installed.

Other then that I don't really look into games that often, either due to time or just I get bored of how bad some of these blockbuster games are. Anything repetitive is boring (things like COD etc.), you enter a game, you attempt to kill everyone, repeat.
