Re: Were does ppl host

TBAB Hosting suck's. No offence intended. There is only one staff which is m5k. That's about it. He is on a dedicated server hosting over 250 website's. Majority of the website's are rpg game's. Sooner or later his bandwidth limit is going to run out or something going to happen.

www.byethost.com limit's there server's to i think 25 - 50 people per server. Giving each user more allocated bandwidth. That's why there bandwidth is so high for such a low price. Plus not to mention there support line has improved alot.

www.clearhostia.com is my recommendation, some may disagree, but its fast and cheap.

Half of the links a dead on that site. I'm currently with jaguarpc.com have a small but reliable VPS with them, usually respond within 15 minutes (using their ticket system) also with instant support via live support if urgent.

Re: Were does ppl host

i host with https://www.arvixe.com/ due to the fact u get 3000GB bandwith :P and 300gb storage :)

Why would you ever need 3000gb of bandwidth OR 300gb storage?

Your making text based games.

Most of your pages are under 10 KILObytes.

And bandwidth is nothing, as usually they only track in bandwidth(or out, cant remember which).

By buying a server like that all your doing is putting your server on the worst host possible.

Think about it, if you were to buy a new computer, put an OS on it(more money), and then rent it to people, you would charge more than $4/month.

Your most likely sharing that server with thousands of people, so if one of their sites ever gets big, your sites going offline.

As is everyone else on the box.

Has anyone had any experince with this site?

http://www.webkeepers.com

??Seems to good to be true...

They might be legit but i wouldn't buy from them... mainly because there site is also in Japenease most likely means they've got some servers in Japan and most likely all their support staff in Japanease.

Re: Where do people host?

Lunar Pages...

I host with them and they're great, no problems so far, it's fast, very cheap.

In total, I paid $118.80 for two years of hosting with a free domain (for a year). The amount of space they give is immense, some statistics below:

Space: 1500 GB

Bandwidth: 5000 GB

Emails: 999

Subdomains: 999

Parked Domains: 999

Add-on Domains: Unlimited

MySQL Databases: 999

FTP Accounts: 999

That was what I purchased in May 2008. Now they have even better plans :)

Re: Were does ppl host

There is no way you are running a gaming server on a $4 plan, no matter how much space, sorry.

The server just wouldn't be capable with all the other sites.
