That's one the reason i write my scripts in notepad but use notepad++ to edit large amounts of files, Notepad++ is unreliable but Zend is pretty good should try that mate.

why not get a free script like Gangster Legends or go for a paid one which is reliable Horizon or go for ZAP it's open source. These are just the choice i know of via MWG/CE so im sure there is alot more Text-Based options available out there.
