  1. No, it was a custom build of services and the size minimized. Was mainly something for me to carry around on a flash stick, for quick development and such.
  2. With a spider we can actually check the content, so that means we can make assumptions based on stylesheet rules or even pure HTML markup. The legend on the login page is a big giveaway, and then the * Description field. I think a few regular expressions can make up the algorithm. Much similar to how Google indexes certain parts of our websites.
  3. I prefer the singe expression, it would validate correctly. This is because; isset(val) - will return true if any data is found is_string(val) - will also return true Whereas a single ereg check would do exactly the same, and check integers(ID's etc.). By my knowledge extracting data from the GET global returns a string, and things like ID's returns an integer. So in theory, your sample might be invalid.
  4. A simple yet - half - effective idea; create a spider. We know what a MCCodes game looks like(the source at least), any match is logged for manual reviewing. A simple Google dork reveals 2,570 games. :) http://google.com/search?q=intext:"Powered by codes made by Dabomstew" Have fun guys... :P Edit: By what means do you guys check purchases? If by domain, I'll write a script that checks all Google links... gladly.
  5. Some months later, nothing seemed to have changed. Somehow I knew it wouldn't be changed, but hopefully the new management team will actually respectfully do something about the three pages of suggestions.
  6. I've made everyone I know a fan of HIMYM... just my thing. From the first episode I became an addict, weird but it's just legend... wait for it... dary! :P
  7. True, false would be more wise. Actually, a regular expession would do a lot better.   $_GET['variable'] = (!ereg('[^0-9A-Za-z]', $_GET['variable'])) ? $_GET['variable'] : false; I'm really not good with regular expressions, but to my knowledge it will only accept letters and numbers.
  8. Well, I'm trying to learn myself to make pictures look more HD, been trough a couple of tutorials now. I was trying to find a way to bring out the colours of the image, while keeping the presence to show the picture was taken at night. This picture was taken some time ago, my very weird friends posing for a camera. Before: After Please tell me what you think, before and after pics provided.
  9. Permissions? I hate a web server for this type of stuff. See my weird one below.. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  10. PHP isn't new, neither is mathematics - everything you will ever think of has been done before. I find these two function to be more productive: http://www.mdj.us/web-development/php-programming/calculating-the-median-average-values-of-an-array-with-php/ Edit: Now that I think of it, why the hell doesn't PHP have an average or median function? When I learned Delphi my teacher drilled my with those functions(sqrt, cos and sin was more severe, but still).
  11. I just absolutely love HIMYM, I'm addicted on it. :P Swarley is of course, my favorite... he's just like an idiot, but somehow reminds me of my one friend. Robin... hmm, she's just afraid anyone is hotter than she is(btw, Ted, Pineapple Indecent & The belt girl is much better). Marshall, he reminds me of how I could be if I only wanted to have sex... once. Teddy boy, well I just think he's a hopeless romantic. Lily, I just don't know how a guy like Marshall scored her. :\ And the cab driver is just awesome. :) Anyone else watch it?
  12. I use Google for the quick templates, or just google for free designs. Theres no such feeling as knowing something was made with hard labour... by someone else. :P
  13. I'd never take something like that into production, simply because I want to know what the user did. Also, many, many... scripts isn't compatible with that - each should filter it's own input. Also, on the forms tip that everyone seems to use as well: you can leave out the action attribute, it's treated the same as an empty attribute. <form method="post"> <input type="text" ...> <input type="submit ...> </form>
  14. I'd agree quality VPS under $20 is doable. Try http://www.rapidvps.com, the first plan will fit your purposes perfectly at 19.99 USD.
  15. I like it, always knew things like this existed but never got around to bookmarking one. Nice find.

The text is clearly readable, so very good there. I'd just suggest putting a darker shadow behind the character, would bring it out to the front a little bit more. Also, the star he is going to trough is hidden in the texture, making it glow, or using a shadow effect will make it more visible and would bring out the point of what is really happening in the picture. PS. you can use the picture, you don't have anything to worry about unless your using it commercially or selling it.
  17. This isn't new is it? I've seen it before... Good work anyway, I'd be glad to hear if anyone's clone can overcome the original.
  18. Better yet, forget idiocy. Don't use anything, it's defaulted by the browser to the same page(in forms), takes less time and for this sole purpose much more effective.
  19. My registration doesn't work, period. You give your two cents, so you say I'm unobliged to do so as well?
  20. Stop ranting on about the whole Google World Domination theory. The Google ISP theory: They are simply connecting their lines with AT&T for the benefit of the users, making it faster for you to use Google. The Chrome Browser: It's the fastest browser on earth today, and it supports HTML5, what the hell are you ranting on about there? The Crome OS: The main goal of it isn't an OS, it's for people who use just the internet. It's a fast solution(under 7 seconds), from pushing the power button to being able to go on the internet. Selling Oxygen? Well, sue your government then too, they are also trying to stop global warming. You people just don't understand Google. Face it, if it wasn't for Google, this website in particular wouldn't even have 1k members. Also, mdshare, you are so against Google, yet you use Adsense? What the hell?!
  21. Seems like some people doesn't understand this concept, Gnome and KDE(the whole GUI) is just applications that runs on Ubuntu, it's not like Windows. I love Ubuntu, I favour it amongst the other Linux variants, simply put - it's easy. Linux can be run on mostly anything, you can take that 10year old computer just collecting dust in your garage and install Linux on it, and I bet it will run(well, server edition at LEAST). But still, even though I have Ubuntu desktop edition, the only reason I haven't removed XP completely from my machine is for gaming purposes, but one of these days I hope that WineHQ can really replace every Microsoft aspect. But I must say, Photoshop and such programs actually runs faster in WineHQ than my XP environment.
  22. Check if mod_rewrite is even enabled on your server? That seems to be the only problem here.
  23. Seems like you are using jQuery, one of my favourites as well. Just read the documentation supplied, api.jquery.com But from a quick look at your script, your not even defining that it is an ajax request, you should really read up on jQuery before attempting to use it...
  24. A few tips, removing ".php" or any part from a URL doesn't make your website any more "professional looking" or anything for that matter, it just proves YOU are not proud of the fact that, indeed, you use PHP, the mother language of your game. And also, you can redirect the "*.php" pages, to "*", with the exact same thing you used, to in fact, remove it in the first place.
  25. In relation to Bye bye., I would just like to say... I personally use my freedom of speech as much as possible, as it is a given right in most countries all over the world. If you think "freedom of speech" is futile, it's really just your opinion, because some of the greatest accomplishments in history wouldn't be possible without "freedom of speech". And among the other posts in that topic, what I find disturbing is the lack of maturity of a third of the posters in the topic. All I can really say is that the first and last posts posted is actually constructive, but I feel it is unnecessary that you locked the topic seanybob, there were still allot to be conversed about. But I really think that when administrators starts to argue and deminish fellow members of their network, it's really immature and informal. The fact that the moderator takes the administrators side, and tries to get in the admin's good books, that really proves imaturity. I do not discredit opinions and fews, even if it is from thirteen year olds, the fact remains; The initial was a constructive, well-formed post and even with decent use of the English language(which you don't find anywhere else on this particular forum). To close off, I think that people's opinions should not be blown off, even the worts suggestions has to be gone trough respectedley and without the need to jump up when someone says something bad, it is constructive. Administrators doesn't, and never will be able to think from a clients side of view, thus the reason for a Feedback board - if you only blow off feedback, why do you use it?
