Sniko has always been onboard. He has already powers of great administration with his rationale inputs with works. !Angel, Dave and I both think and are confident that we can do this along with Dabomstew. Stew is currently in works of migrating the MWG to DO along with my support. Dave on the other hand is milking cows. We'll be set. If not, we will request your efforts back onboard!

mccode-v2 Integrate GoInstant - Real Time Chat Widget
ColdBlooded replied to sniko's topic in Free Modifications
I'd be looking forward to see this functionality in your game during testing! -
So far so good. Went with Ubuntu, configuring LAMP stack from the ground up manually. Let's see how MCCode v2 performs on it...

Hi all, As you all may have noticed, some of the senior and intermediate leaders of this forum have left or/and became inactive without notice. This is a true moment of sadness for me and I'm sure for other members of this community to see them go. We no longer have Alain Bertrand in Make Web Games forums. :( Alain had been one of the founding members of this forums, around 8 years ago. He has contributed lots of effort in development and support for various game engines. In my lift time, I will never forget his work and effort he invested throughout MMORPG industry as a whole. Another great guy who has left us is Nickson. Nickson played a key role in founding Make Web Games around 9 years ago with the founder of this forum named mdshare. According to my knowledge, Nickson performed most of the technical operations on this forum until we (Dabomstew & I) took over. I appreciate all the help, contribution, development work, and ideas published by these leaders over the many years of MWG existence. There will always be space for lost leaders to join us again. The new restructured leadership team can be viewed at: http://makewebgames.io/showgroups.php Introducing a new Administrator / Senior Leader on this forum base is Dave Macaulay. Dave has a big heart when it comes to providing support to people. Not only just support he provides, he goes out of his way after an eight hour shift at work to develop great codes for great purposes. He's got milk in other news ;). We will be actively recruiting and working with consultants to improve this community and website. We don't really have any monetary budget for this, so as always, any effort invested will be a self morale. Thank you and I hope everyone is happy with this restructure.

You guys can all have !Angel for 1 night subscription license, MCCodes !Angel v1. ;) Currently configuring the webserver. Need to ensure its production ready, don't want exploits.

we're going to have to go Offline for a few good hours later this week. :( We are moving dedicated hosting from one of our dedicated box to cloud hosting service. Migrating this stack (along with other RPG related sites) over to Digital Ocean in a coming couple of days. Exact time to be confirmed and announced 12 hours before take down. Hope everything goes smooth. We'll be up as soon as possible though.

This is interesting. The tutorial and your proposed way of adding dynamic font text to image files became easier in new versions for php from what I did like 6 years ago with oldschool php. Nice

Cool. I'll give him a heads up about this. What's your budget?

Contact Dabomstew. He is born to Poke. http://pokehacks.dabomstew.com/ =p

Illusions should develop for v3 standards. I'll msg you on Skype? -
Yes, Apple will reject any app with just WebView in the app with mayb push notification service implemented. Unless, if your developer account on Apple has a good history of apps pushed to AppStore. Most likely, a Company apple developer account will get away with this. This is because of the same reason Guest gave, WebView can be changed at any time after approval without Apple knowing. Apple needs a trusted Dev account in order to be nice to you. However, if its coded using an API like phonegap/codename one and there will be hard coded buttons / navigation / pages which all relies on web side of things - this will get approved easily. Using json to request/send data over net.

What API is used? Native? Phonegap? ... Time frame? How much $ to port mcc v2 into a mobile friendly WWW site? What API is used? jQuery Mobile? ... Time frame? mcc v2 being just off the shelf. Dear community, Our new Administrator Dave has implemented a new theme to this site called: MakeWebGames - Fluid. This theme has been set as Default theme for all members and guests. Dave also re-designed the logo. We however, could do with a Favicon for this site. Any volunteers? A text "MWG" would suit well in my opinion. I personally like this UI change. However, if you don't like it then you can select a theme from the several options available in the drop down field located in the footer of this site. Opinions? Bug reports are welcomed on this thread. Thank you Dave.

I'm sure Bert and Dave are going to tag team me and give me more good time ;). Congratulations chief!

This, provided it's coded from the ground up, requires a lot of brain power for any developer to not like it. You should push this up on Git ;)

Nice! WebSocket is something I am looking into quite recently. However, no ISP in my country has enabled WebSockets as of yet. Something we are looking in to. Brilliant - anxious to see more.

These forums going down the toilet
ColdBlooded replied to chicka's topic in Feedback and Site Support
Good idea. IMHO there are many shy, and people who like to leach on other peoples work and other peoples discussions for themselves. They're own morals will stop them from posting here due to them perhaps thinking "I aint a *whatever* to ask this kind of question/discussion" etc. Communities will never form like that. Everyone has to contribute and willing and able to talk amongst each other with FULL respect. So Zettieeee, don't go out there blamming MCCode (Dabomstew and I along with team members (mostly open hearted contributers like Sniko, Dave, Paul, Zek, Ian and many others who have come and moved on to other commitments.) for spoiling things. I have always done things out of best interest. That is all. Say whatever your cruel opinions want otherwise. The best interest was to share everyone who contributed modules towards the MCC engine. I'd like to see what you contributed before raising this statement dude. Nevertheless, we took what community members said into heart and made an option available for those module developers to request their listing at MCCodes.com which MCCodes.com -> Marketplace indexed into their marketplace list titled as "MWG free modules". We don't make or break this forum. It's us all that do. We need good ethics from some community members. We don't need marketing, we don't need people crying about spams (our moderators do their best to get rid of spam as soon as they encounter it - we aren't blind). Members will inflow this way. Many guests will turn into active posters if they see a good community drive. Some of the individuals here are very on to it. I respect them each and every day I come on here even if they are being dicks/frustrated/annoyed/trollin', end of the they, it's them that will help willingly. MCCodes does hold 100% shares on this forum, list in bullet point(s) of what you want done on here in your views. I promise I will take you into consideration. So don't cry like *****es, go on and provide solutions against each issue. After all aren't developers entitled to provide solutions to everything? What are you? -
Which RIA technology you think is the best?
ColdBlooded replied to a_bertrand's topic in Question of the day
Needs and requirements are dependent indeed. However, Unity is very decent html5 canvas leading RIA. Some big TV commercial agency even use that. -
These forums going down the toilet
ColdBlooded replied to chicka's topic in Feedback and Site Support
Reviewing the current issues (spam, lack of activity (things to talk about)) and rectifying it. Not concerned in investing any capital in the advertising account personally at this point. -
I couldn't care less about its history. Inflated economy providing it's a v2 based game, providing nothing was done to maintain the economy, providing few addicted users with big wallets played the game? Show us its potential.. go on, elaborate my friend. Broader things for owners to think about other than its initial 1 month profit.

These forums going down the toilet
ColdBlooded replied to chicka's topic in Feedback and Site Support
It's not like we don't care about this site. It is simply the time critical issue at the end of the day for the owners Dabomstew and myself. I do lurk and read around this site a lot in spare time (Between class, work, in traffic and personal time at home). When it comes to investing effort to expand the forum (by means of new Forum boards to simulate activity, upgrades in systems etc), I am unable to due to lack of time during the day. We never stop any moderator or admin on this site from doing what they want because we know they will do things in the best interest of the community. However, I agree with you Dom about the leaders (being the owners, Dabomstew and I) being off scene 80% of the time. I understand. I am looking into getting a new management person to focus on that kind of things. However, this forum doesn't make $ and people don't invest their time for free. I shall do my best to sort something out in that department. Please note: We are not looking to sell this site. Valid point nevertheless. Thank you for voicing that out. -
Thank you for those words Hedge, appreciated.
