Mostly this is the only difference. However the full include a caching of the modules, a security token, and HTTP cache system. Beside those, the difference is the quantity of modules.

well then you already know the answer I would say ;) Yet without making any promotion, try the free version, and check if you handle it. Don't spend just 5 min, spend a couple of days and try to build a fully working module maybe with admin features as well. Then, and only then, think what fits you better.

Well anyone who want to edit the wiki can request it and I shall give it. It's not fully open due to the amount of spam any wiki website gather otherwise, and I don't want to spend my time cleaning it. I would say, what's needed is some description of how the stats works, the items, the quests, the dialogs and such. So that the owners can use their tools more quickly.

I would say what I always say: decide what your game should do BEFORE choosing the technology / code / engine. Why? Because after you defined what you want, maybe you will discover that none of the existing engines will fit the requirements, or on the other side you may discover than one or the other fit better. Anyhow deciding what you want to do need to be done at some point, so better to do it before, and then see what to use and not fight with some code trying to bend it to make what you had in mind. Also, remember that NWE, ezRPG, McCodes (and quiet a few others) offer a free version if they are not all free, so you could also check to see if the free version don't fit your base requirements as well and at least let you try to build something with it to clarify you a bit more.

Official make a wish thread: Request an official mod
a_bertrand replied to Sporto's topic in New Worlds Engine
Yes as well. But it doesn't mean you MUST keep the current code, or does it? NWE is made all in module (or nearly) with the idea that if something doesn't fit your need, you replace it. -

Sorry rockwood, but there is already an combat system, which anyhow should be considered as placeholder and should be tweaked or re-written to accommodate the rules of the game the game owner want to to implement. Remember NWE is an engine, not a pre-made game. -
I made a tool which automatically extract the documentation out of the core lib files and displays it: http://nw-engine.com/index.php?c=extract_doc You can find it from the wiki manual as well. It's certainly not the best phpDoc tool, but it somehow fit the needs I believe.

Official make a wish thread: Request an official mod

1) Easy stat creation / modification: on purpose I left that out of the admin panel, because you should not edit it once the game started. Fiddle around player stats may create a huge mess (like you lower some max stats or whatever). Honestly, it's not so hard, you check how the existing stats are defined, read the columns names and you should be able to create new one. 2) You can make this mod yourself, as the class picker or the work module (it would be like a mix of the 2) 3) Again, nothing to do with the base engine, therefore you should do it yourself. 4) Here, the engine is not currently thought to let you group things as you wish, as those are defined by the modules. I would suggest to drop the side_menu module and create a replacement menu module which would fit your needs. -
[In Production] Games Update Page [In Production]
a_bertrand replied to Script47's topic in Free Modules (Requests or Offers)
Why not develop on your own PC with xampp, wampp or whatever? It's a nonsense to use a remote server while developing in my opinion. -

Cool! Even if you could have left the default admin edit table tool and save you some time ;) Another thing you could add is to let the players mark the news as read. -
And it's useless if you think about security as you would wrongly think that only numbers (for example) can be sent instead the browser could still send other stuff for example from older browser versions or from people which do it on purpose. As first rule of security: never trust user input.
-
yes it's highly insecure. ANY string going to the SQL string must be escaped correctly or yet better use bindings (by using PDO or MySQLi). It doesn't matter if the value come from $_GET, $_POST, Cookies or whatever else.

Well I tested on my side, and it works perfectly with an _1 or _2 (I tested with the name db, and created db_1 and db_2). So it must be something on your side, as I don't see anything on the code which would prevent it.
-
and does database_1 exists before you install it? If not then that's the reason why it doesn't work. Other than that, I do know MySQL uses the _ (underscore) as special character, so I would use a - (minus) instead.
-
Sjobbe: when you get this message it means your configuration is wrong. Beside that you can use more or less whatever database name as long as it's accepted by MySQL.
-
This as something to do with the clan_wars, you must ask Kyle what's wrong there. You could disable the module by hand (either by removing the directory or by creating a file called module.lock inside the module directory) that should let you use the engine at least.

And that's exactly what I said: he cannot call it McCodes V3.
-
As title of the thread for example.
-
but keep in mind you can't call it McCodes V3 ;-)

Actually if it's for yourself, you can do whatever you want. I thought you want to re-distribute it and this would not be allowed. For V3, I would say... there is currently nothing nor you may see anything. If one day they will offer it, then fine. But till then don't count on it.
-
No you are not allowed to modify V2 and sell it nor redistribute it. What you could do is sell your modifications as modification without including any of the V2 code.

How do you think they will gain money and then share it? (if they do so...) So either the info you give have loads of value to them, or there is other means to produce money. -

It's basically yet another pyramidal "game". Doesn't make much sense beside being scammed in my opinion.
