That's my bad, was when I was cropping the images I have a top:0; in already, locally :) responsive doesnt have it
-
Have done :) Check first post Havent updated the responsive image as that is hosted online so I could access it through a responsive checker. The rest has been done locally Script47 check now, have the second suggestion included
-
Ah nice suggestion, thanks :)

I've decided that the most popular was the third image so I'm using that. Out of Game In-Game Another side note which isn't really needed, this page is also responsive :D EG: Any feedback welcome :) I've added an ingame image ( Script47 G7470 )

Yeah I'm just trying to bump this a bit. I have the login and register file coded. All the images in the template are sliced and usable. There is a border image file therefore that can be used throughout the site on other pages easily enough, same goes for the boxes. There is a base button image and button hover image which allows you to create your own buttons, the text on the buttons isn't an image its done through html and css, for obvious reasons. If interested PM me. $10 for the coded files - this doesnt include the full rights to the template If you want the full rights PM me .

I haven't but it wont be overly difficult to fix
-
In game design looks a lot better now. However the images on the menu beside the links seem slightly out of place, try adding valign=middle in the <img> tag.
-
It depends, I can generally work in any environment, I like quiet but after a while I might put music on. If im in a room with other people and the TV is on, I can still concentrate well, if I focus on what I'm doing then the rest just gets drowned out. The only thing that gets to me and annoys me is when a room is silent and I can hear people eat their food. It's so annoying.

Yup, agreed, it's a long way around it. The truth of the matter is, we're talking about security, and I'm not sure any web app can be 100% secured
-
Not if you run a multi server setup. One server dedicated to the game files, the other to the admin files and then host the database on the third. This way you can have different levels of security for each server. Game Server needs to be accessed by users. Admin Server can be protected with htpasswd and htaccess, not to mention having a login etc. You can have your admin panel accessible by the subdomain. If you really want, you can create a file containing a list of ips, then compare it to the ip thats trying to access the admin server. Database Server follows the same setup as the Admin Server, then you can create multiple users for the database, read-only and write-only. Its a lot more expensive to implement being a downside.

If you go to preferences you can change the theme. The default theme is a lot lot better

I've now coded the login and register file! The template is complete :)

Poll: Mysqli, PDO or Mysql(depreciated)
Coly010 replied to AdamHull's topic in MySQL, Oracle, Postgress or other DB
I don't have the understanding of PDO that I would like to be confident using it with projects, its a work in progress. -
The layout in game template is hurting my eyes..

I pondered what you said about the buttons so I changed the colour of them and I feel like the template looks a lot better now, I also created the register page.
-
It sets you up with a colour palette that you can use throughout your design, colours that compliment each other.
-
Maybe, I would need to see it in action to form a better opinion, but if you do, outline it with black, otherwise it might be slightly difficult to see. You can do this in css or just use images
-
I like the idea behind it, and your second attempt is definitely better than your first. You CCM Sign looks slightly out of place, i would maybe add a filter over it, dull it just a tad so that it looks like its part of the background. Colour wise, I would suggest giving your headings a colour, and maybe your navigation links. But good job :)
-
Colours of buttons are easily changeable, I went with blue to try and lift the template a bit, however I can understand why some might prefer it if it kept to the rest of the dark design. The login form has all its text omitted as it would be added in when the file is coded, however if you would like I can post a screenshot that has 1.) different button colours , 2.) text in the login form

I was bored and I also wanted to see how my graphic skills were holding up so I decided I'd make a game template, I have only made the login for now, but I've spent the past two days working on this. If your interested in this piece, I'll do up a register page for it as well, and I'll code it all. Price - $10 (fully coded, login and register page) If you want a matching in-game template, I'll do that out and code it up as well for an extra $10 :) Buttons can be changed as well EDIT: LOGIN AND REGISTER NOW CODED! PM if interested EDIT After reading Script47 's comment about the blue buttons not seeming to match the style. I went back to the template and changed the colour of them, I also designed up the register page, so here they are: Full size images can be found here: http://columferry.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/full_temp_red.png http://columferry.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/full_temp_red_reg.png

Well said jcvenom . I need to apologise as well, I haven't exactly been the nicest to you either. I don't dislike you, I believe you have potential, it was just your attitude was irritating me, but lets just leave that in the past :) I'll still help you if you ever need it / want it. :)

I love when people say "mind your own business" on the internet, I really do. I can't help but think, you've just wrote something on a public forum, where anyone who has the internet can see, and therefore makes it everyone who is interested's business. And as its the internet, I'm allowed to state an opinion/my thoughts on the situation. Calling you an arrogant brute isn't about insulting you, its about showing you how you're coming across on this forum. I'm in a plenty decent position to state my opinion even if I'm not in one to insult you, I'm all set to study Computer Science at University, with an A-Level in Physics, Maths and Further Maths and around 5 years programming experience including languages: HTML(5), CSS(3), PHP, SQL, JavaScript (and subsequent libraries), Java (including the Android and BlackBerry SDKs), Visual Basic, C# (including the XNA library when it was still floating about). Unknown , I'm sorry this has gone off topic slightly, this guy just gets on my nerves a bit.. If you need any help with anything related to HTML or CSS send me a Private Message, I'll be glad to help. I might give you a few small projects as well to help get you started :)

I'm gonna day Google Drive as well, I use the Spreadsheet for doing this sort of thing

jcvenom You are in absolutely no position to laugh at anybody wishing to being learning to code! Get off your high horse, at the start I thought you were a decent person, doing work for a client. Now I just think your an arrogant brute, who can't take advice, and now your trying to put down someone who is trying to learn how to code? You really need to wise up! You got one client, got £70 for a job, big deal, get over it. Unknown has quite clearly stated he has no experience, thus he has nothing he can show, he wants to LEARN by DOING. Its a great idea, and from his first post, any client that seeks his service will know that this guy is only learning and therefore wont be expecting the same quality as something he paid $100 for. However, he has got the assurance that if its not up to standard then Unknown will put the work in to improve it. That's dedication. Unknown Good Luck :) I started off by doing websites for free for people as well and everytime I did one I managed to learn a crap ton of things. Its a great and rewarding way to learn plus it builds up your portfolio whilst you learn and helps give you a reputation, everything you need for when you do start to charge money for your services. So I wish you all the best :) - - - Updated - - - jcvenom You are in absolutely no position to laugh at anybody wishing to being learning to code! jcvenom , Am I right in thinking your leaving the forum because you've been getting mixed feedback on your work? If so that's an extremely stupid reason to leave. Your always going to get criticised in life, no matter what you do. Everyone that has posted in this thread has given a valid point, that you should take on board. I wouldn't pay $70 never mind $300 for a login, mainly because it seems a lot of money, when I can do it myself. If I was making a login/register, then I would provide the client with a working login code / register code regardless, then its up to them whether they want to use it. Your js file was your own doing as you've told us it was a bonus thing you gave to the client. Its not hard to code up a few files. But like Dayo said, more time is spent, refining it and tweaking it. Its your choice to leave, but if your running away because you've faced a bit of criticism then your always going to be running. Its the only way your going to learn / strive to do better. Let it motivate you to do better. Personally, coding isn't just about the possibility of making money, its about seeing the final result. I enjoy coding, I do some sort of coding every day. If someone wants me to do something for them, I'll charge them for my time, but I'm not going to make it extremely expensive, because 1.) I wouldn't pay if it was too dear, 2.) I enjoy doing it too much, 3.) There's a good chance I could keep them as a return customer if my work is up to scratch Charge what you want, but know that the client may always be able to find a cheaper option. If I had a choice between that $20 one and yours, I'd take the $20 one, it offers me more.
