no fair he gets all the attention :( just kidding signed up to the game, its not that bad. Not quite the type of game I would play but not a bad game either. a few suggestions i would make is : clean up the info showing at the top of every page a little.. maybe spice up the ingame layout a bit ?...just seems to "text based" for me. These are just my friendly opinions and I mean no offense. Thanks :)

thanks for your opinion dementor :) To be honest i tried to keep the layout as simple as possible and tried to keep load time of the layout low. This is because i know how dial up players feel when a game layout takes forever to load. So i tried my best to keep my game dial up friendly :)

you wouldnt be suggestiong a num_rows query now are you ? :D heres an example just incase its needed... $xx = $db->query("SELECT 'refREFER' FROM 'referals' WHERE refREFER=$userid"); $x = $db->num_rows($xx);   now you can display how many referals the person with $x :) lol...i probably just wasted my time doing this but it might help someone...lol cheers

lol...the error in the main menu with the people not showing in the jail or hospital has nothing to do with this mod. I believe that is a small coding issue with mccodes itself...but not sure on that. Also I use this currently to update a few things on my game and it works perfect. nice work.

seeing as this game is made 100% from scratch its a pretty decent game. I look forward to seeing it grow :)

first off, thanks for the comment. Also, ive seen many successful games using this engine that is no where near a clone of Torn City. I understand what your saying about the engines being the same but besides that i took no motivation from Torn City at all....I dont and have never even played that game. I have signed up of course just to see what all the hype is about and in my opinion that game is not that great at all...i believe it simply had the advantage of using the mccode system when it was very new. Im not saying its a bad game, i just dont think its the best game out there... also i believe everyone has "Limited Skills"...because one person cant know everything about PHP. Some peoples skills are more advanced than others yes, but everyone is limited some way. Im not the best coder and I dont claim to be, I do have a Motivation to learn and I continue to do so everyday, I enjoy developing my game and communicating with players. I do the best i can :) lol... Thank you for the response crimgame.com :) thanks streetsyndicate, I done most of the Graphical Work for the game myself...and as you can probably tell i suck major at it. Graphic design is not my strong point....lol but as always i do the best i can, i tried to keep the layout simple and load time low for it because i know how a dial up player feels when it takes 20 minutes to load the layout of a game...lol Thanks for the comment and observations, i will keep them in mind when i make some changes to my game :)

Hello everyone, Over a Year ago now I First wanted to make my own online rpg game like the ones i enjoyed playing at that time. Now i have a game that is doing ok and seems to be on the rise... Im looking for some constructive criticism about my game please...from a developers point of view... I Have spent countless hours developing the game and im sure i will spend countless more developing the game even further....Also i tried not to "CLONE" other games but rather do my own thing...not sure how well i did with that but i did add a few of my own custom features into the game. so im curious, there is no way i can make this run with a lot less lag ?..... I did notice when there where only like 5 or 10 posts that it did run smooth but once the Post count got higher(i set max to display 250) the lag began and would get worse the more posts that were shown.... Im willing to pay for a smooth running shoutbox/chat similar to this because its nice. cheers

nice mod i like it but i have players complaining that it lags too much....is this because its calling the javascript file from a 3rd party site ?.... I was wondering if i copied the js file to my server if the chat would run smoother ?...   Thanks Guys...

try adding error reporting to it and see if it gives you an error. add this right under <?php : error_reporting(E_ALL); cheers

well the way you have it looks correct. If your on a free host the chances of them allowing you to use crons is very slim but i hear their are free hosts that allow this. If your on a paid host go into your cpanel and click cron jobs and set them up. you can visit the link to manually run the cron. if its not working when you run it manually then there may be a coding error in the cron. add this at the top right under <?php : error_reporting(E_ALL); and then run your cron manually again and if there is an error it will tell you , if not it will just be a blank white scree. hope that helps... cheers

if the page is just a blank white page then I believe there is no errors in the cron.

lol..first off did you rename index2.php to index.php that may be the problem.

line 66 that query is all screwed up..lol $db->query("INSERT INTO home_users VALUES '$userid', $_GET'property']},'','','','','','','')"); should look like this $db->query("INSERT INTO home_users VALUES ('$userid', {$_GET['property']},'','','','','','','')"); hope that helps :) cheers
