Sounds to me like your wishing to do a pop up or pop under which by the easiest method is blocked on most browsers for unwanted advertising. So your looking for a way around it :P With Jquery you would need to look at .ready or .load depending on how the rest of your code is. Or go ask piro if they can do it :D

That crashed all the time. Would report new posts when there wasnt any. Would log you out on a random basis. Perhaps members of the community could produce a few themes and submit them to staff. Personally I find the theme and look how it is at the time of posting easy to use and easy to read.

I dont agree. You can put up poll after poll after poll discussing what should be done and let the community decide. Months later its still 50/50 and you have got nowhere. Clearly WBB had issues and from what I have read this could have been from previous installations or it was just a mess. The result meant upgrading WBB was not possible which could have rectified the problems the site had but I know from previous experience that if there is issues then resolving them is a needle in a haystack job. Ripping out the guts and starting fresh is a much better option. Its a community site yes. Is the community important yes. Are they in charge no. It simply would not work.

Its much better. At the end of the day you cannot please everyone and it was very clear the previous software could not handle the load and had some code issues. Its good to see that there is a pro-active team behind MWG that will make important decisions for the community. A job well done to everyone involved with the switch.

It wont. I was playing games on my zx spectrum and before that lcd games on various hand held devices. Hell there was even popular number games on calculators as that is all we had. Everything evolves so does gaming and the older tech just gets cheaper until its no longer required. Internet gaming is still pretty much an infant It will just keep getting better as faster tech and faster end user broadband speeds keep getting rolled out.

Dont really know why your trying to start at game creation level then. HTML, CSS followed by moving into basic PHP and MySQL would be the way to start for anyone wishing to get into this kind of game.

You only need to change the css Evil. Its not really that hard. It took me hmm 5mins to change all the css to fit exactly how I wanted it too. Including the admin gradients.

There is no real way to stop this. Ever scenario has a solution. Player makes account A Player makes account B using a proxy or free online proxy or simply uses another IP assigned from their router (country dependant quite rife in USA i believe) So makes them both a legit account. You only solution is to watch the logs. From my experience legit players hate it with a passion and will quite happily spot multi accounts and report them in for you to look at.
