How low can I go for $20? Over 6 months I was more than patient with you. Couldnt send the work as your gran was visiting. Couldnt send the work as your gran decided to stay a bit longer (bless) Couldnt send the work as you was working on your bike. Not forgetting the numerous emails I sent to you which you decided to ignore. Sorry how pathetic someone feels the need to scam for $20 and is unable to pay it back. Ok well I gave him until the end of this month to refund me. Alas no refund so here we are. I paid Haunted Dawg to slice a PSD to HTML as per the offer which is still in his profile (no longer available). This was back in August 2010. Last message from him about it was back in September where he said he would send it. He promptly disappeared from these forums until recently. Upon his return I asked for the work or a refund. Apparently hard drive (a frav excuse for this type of work) failed so the work has been lost. Doesnt have any money so cannot refund. So I gave until the end of the month to refund. The response was rather pathetic at best. I do not have the money so cant refund you and I doubt ill have the money by the end of the month. Honestly I am not that bothered about the money its a very small amount which is why I find his statement I will not have the money really lame and pathetic. However obviously as he has returned to the forums and is posting quoting for how he can do work for other members then its only fair that others know of the experience and can decide for themselves. Moderators ....private messages are in my account and can be viewed to prove my post. Around page 6 and 7. Personally I would like banned or him stripped of his sage status as its misleading. Such a status on the forum gives the impression that he is a trusted member of the forum. Edit... For those that are concerned about me getting scammed. I am really not bothered as the money is very small to me. Its the principal in that he is not bothered. The friend who was going to be doing the game is no longer interested in the project so please no offers for the work.

Sorry but do not trust Haunted Dawg. He was paid months ago to do some work which has not been delivered and he apparently does not have the money to do a refund. Im not that bothered about it. Small amount but I aint gonna let you get away with it seen as you dont actually seem that bothered about it Dawg.

Was quite disappointed to be honest with you. It must have taken quite a bit of time to code all the add ons to the engine and you have basically created a EzRPG mccodes game. Whilst the underlying code maybe better your doing the same things in the same way. Which if you want your game to be like that then fine job well done but if not then you need to sit down and think more on what you want your game to be like. At the end of the day you can pat yourself on the back after doing a great job coding all the extras into the ezrpg engine. From a gamer point of view its no different to any other mccodes game.

I run several servers at Hetzner. Support is quick and reliable. Routing is pretty quick. But im in the UK and most of my players are UK/EEC based. Hence why I host at Hetzner. Feel free to ping rulerofzu.com Alain.

I think $40 upgrade for something thats restructured as stated is a fair price. It takes a significant amount of work to restructure. However I reckon anyone that purchased the 2.0.3 version since its release should be allowed to upgrade to 2.5 for the difference in price $20. I think that would be fair as its possible anyone that purchased the 2.0.3 could have held out just a little longer and purchased 2.5 if it had been revealed such work was taking place!

It all comes down to structure. If your mysql database and its tables are structured well and you have employed a sound understanding of mysql into the tables fields then joining several tables can be quicker than using one large table. Also depends on what you need to do with the data and of course how good your code is. I should imagine Alain has more knowledge on this than others Guide to Database Performance

Does not really answer the questions. Hosts allow crons but set different ways using certain commands according to their setup. Also some dont allow 1min,5min crons.

Really all comes down to budget. Your options are really as follows: Shared hosting...will it be good enough if you take on too many users you will normally be asked to leave in which case VPS - next best thing to a dedicated server and usually comes with more support. Dedicated Server - Going dedicated would be a tough call for you as you have no experience. Managed dedicated servers could be an option but you have to pay a premium. VPS I would say could be a good option for you. Burstable, Has a higher CPU/RAM usage allowance. Plus it give you the benefits of a Dedicated feel so you could get some experience using admin systems just in case in the future your requirements change and need to move to a dedicated server. Further to what Alain stated. You need to think about where your players will be. Mainly US based then where in the US? East/West Coast or general or mainly European? Main reason for this is the connection to your site and response back to the player. If your player is in Europe and site is hosted in West Coast US then you have to bear in mind the site will be fractionally or sometimes a great deal slower to use. Your travelling across the atlantic and then across various hubs in the USA before reaching the server and then back again. The difference is generally between 30ms > 70ms (local server) and 130+ms (non local). So if ping response time is something you need to consider then keeping it local is beneficial. Also the more hops you have to go through to reach the site then the more chance you get problems such as work on one of the hubs. If your expecting players from everywhere then you could look into cluster database configs or geoIP redirection to a local server. When chosing servers when I ran my webhosting company I also looked at what bandwidth providers they had available as this makes a huge difference. Multihomed premium bandwith is much much quicker than cheaper providers generally due to the amount of hops involved. Also internal infrastructure is vital to ensure uptime.

Well I cant recall the default house system in Mc2. Did you check the users table and verify the house ID is inserting or is the correct ID? I suspect its not the correct house ID in which case you would need to amend the item use section of the code in the modification to gather the correct ID.
