The host I am using has no ftp upload as far as I can see. If someone knew where to find a better host that is free (and supports cronjobs as the 1 I am using atm doesn't) then I would greatly appreciate it.

Setting up a game on a free host really isnt worth setting one up at all...free hosts simply arent equipped to handle the load of running a game.

Well Scarlet if your looking to host/design over 10 websites It's best to get a dedicated..

Advantages

1) Your in FULL control

2) Your account cannot get suspended (dependant on company)

3) You control the looks and design

4) You can modify and upgrade your control

Most Dedicated Server Sellers offer a choice of: DirectAdmin, Plesk or cPanel

:) Great and Efficient, My advice to you..Because i know it'll work because I'm using it :)

The only thing is they keep up-to-date on the hosting bills :P

lol Im pretty sure a dedicated would be a huge jump for him...but yea if you are gonna host multiple sites/games ...you get what you pay for. Expect to have to dish out some money for hosting eventually. Shared servers are ok to start out, but you have to plan ahead as your game and traffic grow.

 

My comments was just to tell him not to use a free host...honestly seeing a gameowner throw a free game engine , with free mods , on a free server just makes my *spidey senses* tingle...you pretty much know that game is not going to last so why donate or play it?

I still prefer a managed dedicated

less trouble , might cost a lil bit more

Yeah... lunarpages doesn't. I order 3 months of dedicated. I don't knwo when it runs out. Or when they are gonna decide to charge me for the first 3 months so i can repurchase the next 3 lol.

The game looks good specially the kallen modded one, but it has serious balance issues in the battle system. If you seriously intend on running this as a live game, you will need to spend a lot of time working out the problems in the code.
