Very interesting!

Will have my eyes open and probably play with some of the products produced. I don't think I'll have the time to compete myself though, sadly.

oh, that's sadly in deed, Sniko, as we are looking for various types of games and devs to participate at our first contest. Thanks for the comment, btw :)

As sniko as stated, I'll be watching this as well but won't be able to participate - especially considering I'll be away from my computer for half of the time that is allotted to complete the game. If you do one of these in the future, I'll certainly be interested in competing (so long as I'm available!).

Ah, are you brothers or cousins or perhaps work in the same company? :/ Thanks for stopping by, G7470 but I'd really love if you and more developers would compete at our contest... Maybe its prize pool is too low to be worthy?

Good news, the contest theme is updated and revealed!

-----------------

Contest theme:

Time Travel; Portals; Easter.

Can you think of a game which can use one, two or all three keywords of the Contest theme? We bet in $10,000 that you can make various fancy things for our first game development contest!

Don't forget The Rules:

- Contest Theme is mandatory. Pick one, two or all three themes to craft your own game.

- Implement at least 2 ID.net Features before you compete for up to $5,000 cash prize!

- The contest is open for 7 full days. Afterwards, all entries are published live on Y8.com and evaluated for 7 days.

... Read ID.net API Tools documentation at dev.id.net

The judging Criteria:

- Master the art of ID.net Features

- Gameplay Mechanism

- Player Engagement

- Creativity, Originality, Sound

No, we're not related nor do we work in the same company haha.

I also wouldn't say that the prize is "too low to be worthy", heck, it would be great coming out of a contest with $500 let alone $5k.

I'll just be away for 50% of the time that is given to complete the game, so if I would enter, it would be nowhere near my best work.

I may submit an entry if I can after the contest? I won't have time during 09-16 March to work on it :(

ofc you may submit a game, Sniko, as our site is open for games, or even submit a game for potential licensing with us (aside the contest). But I'm afraid submitting entries for the contest after it ends, doesn't make much sense for the starting/ending date... Its a pity to miss your entry, thou :/

It would surprise me if you were, lol :)

Ah, same like Sniko you are out of time for the contest :/ Oh well, perhaps we can work on something else after the contest ends, or you'll be luckier if/when we make the 2nd contest? :)

Cheers
