DopeboyGFX
Hey MWG, I've been thinking about designing a flat template for text based games. Seems like a bad idea but I just wanted to experimenting and share with you guys. Feedback is important so please feel free. Good Day! KyleMassacre
I'm not fond of this one at all. Maybe its just the scale but it seems like the content area is too small and the main menu is too wide
DopeboyGFX
Yes I agree with you on the scaling but does the idea of a flat design sound good ? - - - Updated - - - Or look good ?
KyleMassacre
for a real text based game I think so but I haven't really seen any old school games like that. most games these days use graphics in a lot of the modules so it would look a little weird to have awesome ingame images and a crap flat layout
DopeboyGFX
LOL You do prove a point. I didn't think of that.
Dragon Blade
You can make a template like that with css only :D But I like it, if you could change colors...My opinion I dont like green XD

Djkanna
for a real text based game I think so but I haven't really seen any old school games like that. most games these days use graphics in a lot of the modules so it would look a little weird to have awesome ingame images and a crap flat layout 'Flat design' can work for games and there's nothing stating one cannot use graphics in a design that's primarily flat. This one however really doesn't work. You need to work on your colour scheme DopeboyGFX, as mentioned the scale of things could use some work too. DopeboyGFX
Thank you Djkanna. I was thinking it over and yes you're right. It can work with a flat design. I know the color scheme doesn't work but when I was designing I just used random colors. This could be changed.

Also this is of a similar colour scheme to the one you've chosen, maybe it'll help you with designing your page elements. :)
DopeboyGFX
Thanks :D This will help. I was using http://colorschemedesigner.com/
Djkanna
That's useful too. 0 to 255 is incredibly helpful also. :)
Dave
I think your design here would greatly benefit from being on a grid structure. It'll also make it a lot easier to snap into a responsive template. I personally like http://960.gs/
DopeboyGFX
Thanks guys. I will look into this Dave.
