Who uses ezRPG nowadays?

As this is the forums that is supported, making regularly updated having effect on current running games I'd like to know how many actual games are running on ezRPG right now. If we would have some sort of idea of this it would be easier to make proposals and making updates that side-effects games running on current version, less people actually using it right now makes a market to make the core better.

I'm actually using an old version of ezRPG (0.12) which I find much easier to edit than the new versions (1.02)

I've currently added a basic forum, modified the existing battle/items/equipment systems, added player trades and a few other things

Something in dev though it's currently playable.

Basically a fork off the original 0.12v; I found it much easier to develop with this engine than the current 1.02 engine (maybe it's because I'm too lazy to learn the new structure... but the smarty template system and new functions put me off trying to develop anything for it)

I've added a few modifications of my own such as a simple chat/forums, equip trading, potions, monster item/equip drops and daily events

Currently planning to implement a system where players need to "travel" to locations to perform particular actions (such as move to the lake to fish or move to the mines to mine gold)

How is security with it? Can it be easily changed to another genre rather than just mafia related?

No security flaws that I can speak of now. It's patched. Yes, there are no genre, its a boilerplate offering many modules you can use to modify etctera.

I am not part of the main development team, however I've helped nand (the guy who started the rework) building on it, and now we're making a merge and stuff. It's going to be awesome!

Not sure, but it could easily be implemented or created by someone, perhaps I'd do it myself, make a topic in the Module Request with details and I'll take it from there, if you find interest for it.

So the current version is going to be changed or I can safely use it and install modules without worrying about code changes later?

By the way, what is the most current version?

I'll add a bit.

uaktags, a developer of ezRPG is working on creating an upgrade from ezRPG to ezRPG rework and vise versa.

The ultimate goal is to merge the two projects and focus our time solely on improving and developing a single version of ezRPG.

For more information you can visit his branch at https://github.com/uaktags/ezrpg.

Currently, my rework is stable, but still in beta stage, hence 0.1b. There are a few kinks with the installer, but a fix for it has been detailed... somewhere. It's available here: https://github.com/nands/ezrpg

The new release of ezRPG currently in development will house some awesome, but major additions and changes to the engine. You can find ezRPG devel here: https://github.com/ezrpg/ezrpg/tree/devel

For a demo of ezRPG (stable master branch): http://demo.ezrpgproject.org

For a demo of ezRPG Rework (beta 1): http://rework.ezrpgproject.org

To add to Nands' post, I've taken a break for a moment on Nands rework. His rework is a new view on how ezRPG should have been with a few updated ideals built in. My git was an initiative to try to mold compatiability for the official ez and Nands.

As of late though, I've been pushing development on a developmental branch of ezrpg found at https://github.com/ezrpg/ezrpg/tree/devel . It's updates surpasses master with some new features, but still misses compatiability with Nand. My goal is to push things like nand's security library, the decoupling of HTMLPurify, and a few code changes that Nand improved on.

For the most up to date, stable official build of ezRPG @ as Booher stated https://github.com/ezrpg/ezrpg/tags . If you'd like to get inspired as I have, take a peep at the other branches and forks and make some requests as well. Everything for the most part is very secure, people have even decoupled the Gaming engine to use ezRPG as a low-resource cms, which is another initiative I'm looking into myself. Join our community, grab some mountain dews, and dig into a weekend of coding to try out where you can take ezRPG. In it's infancy, it's extremely powerful, let's see how much further we can push the limits on it.

OK so there are different versions of EZRPG to make it more confusing.

Right now I need an engine with good modules that is secure. I then need to be able to use that across multiple domains. I am mostly interested in having it functional and secure rather than new features.

To meet this need and to avoid constant adaptations of codes due to mergers etc which one should I use?
