ColdBlooded Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 So you guys think it's right to disregard rules, a.k.a. terms and conditions, of other websites? With MCCodes, the default rules-set clearly indicates that no automated software(bots) are allowed on the website. Wait.. since when it became illegal to have automated processes in place? It is not our problem nor we are breaching anything by having automated processes to reduce overhead costs on our end. It's a 1 click option for the game owners to enable a CAPTCHA system on their pages. If they do have that enabled, we will go forward doing it unautomatedly - obviously wont be as efficient, but will be done. The game players are bounded with the rules of "NO having automated scripts running on your account". We aren't game players, we are the authorities trying to stop illegal use of a software. Quote

As a side note, you guys aren't "the authorities trying to stop illegal use of a software", there's people for that; You guys need to work through *them*. Quote
Paul Evans Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 If they have no rights to use the script they are in the wrong, we have the right to inform them of their illegal actions any which way we see fit and if it saves time to use a automated function to send ingame messages so we can answer any customers quicker then i'd say it's a good idea. Raven1992 Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 come on guys give the mccodes some slack they got the power to do stuff to it Quote
Paul Evans Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 In the long run our dropping of illegal mccodes websites helps our customers also because then there isn't hundreds of games similar to their game hanging around. Think about it if they ripped off the main script whats stopping them doing spamming, stealing images, customers and even mods from license holders. We try our best to close illegal mccodes websites down all the time, mccodes is a popular gaming script so the number of people making illegal games grows everyday. Quote
ColdBlooded Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Thank you Raven1992. Some people in this community knows how to type some serious negative statements around the forums. lucky3809 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Not everyone reported on mccodes.com gets taken down though, because I know a couple that are still up and using an illegal copy of the software, that were reported. So what is the excuse on that? Not enough power to do so? Also why is there rumor floating around that mccodes.com don't really own the original copy, that it was stolen and re-made? Want to shine some light on that? Because that seems like 2 wrongs and no right, when people are accused of using an illegal copy, and such raven selling copies of an illegal script, but yet this rumor says that mccodes.com is selling illegal software too. Anywho nothing to be worried about I guess on the subject, just wondered this for years now. Never found the correct answer, because your site states you found the software later then the rumor states of the original founder whom made the engine. Quote
CodeMonkey Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Something should have been done about the un-licensed versions of the mccodes engine a long time ago, but it's nice to see some action is being taken. Good luck. Quote

MC stands for Mono Country, the two founders (Stewart and I) of the mcc v1 script which was used to power MonoCountry.com (our first game) - was quite a hit. Then after a while we decided to package it a little and sell it off packaged as an engine. Then made v2 to upgrade a few core framework etc. Here we are after so many years, working on V3. Something should have been done about the un-licensed versions of the mccodes engine a long time ago, but it's nice to see some action is being taken. Good luck. Thank you CodeMonkey. Cheers. Quote

I did not ask what MC stood for I know it is Mono Country, nothing in my post said anything about that. And you changed the subject when I asked a simple yes or no question. Seems to me it is what it is and what rumors has said about mccodes.com So second question how can you get upset over illegal copies from someone having when the original coding was stolen, that mono country and or mccodes had no copy rights to? But yet used and re made it into their own engine? Just like Chedburns on Torn saying his engine is not mccodes, but his own... Changing the coding to an original script and calling it yours is not necessarily yours. You would think there would be still a copy right infringement there. So how raven stole the copy of mccodes and then recoded it, this means they have right to it and rights to sell such, because that is exactly what you have done with your engine right? What rumors has said. So who is in the right and who is in the wrong? when you have two wrongs there is no right. Quote

Torn is not powered by MCCodes, these are our codes, we did not "steal" them from anyone. Ravan has stolen from us by reselling OUR software with a few changes. Quote

And you changed the subject when I asked a simple yes or no question. Seems to me it is what it is and what rumors has said about mccodes.com He said it was “mono country codes” because it was their first site, and then went on to explain they programmed the original game. They then, after opening the site, decided to sell it as a package. V2 was just v1 built on a little. I don’t see how he avoided the question? Your rumour would be totally incorrect. My interpretation – he said no, and then explained the answer. Quote

Which went off topic when they talked about mccodes and raven script. Quote
