Wamp Server

Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask where would be a safe place to download the latest version of WampServer without viruses ect... That is if it's free ofcourse, not looking for illegal sofwares just to be clear. :)

Which one would you say is better,XAMPP or WAMP? Or it just a matter of preferance?

For me preference, I like Wamp Server.

However I am not really sure of advantages over one or the other, they both do pretty much the same thing.

It depends on your needs.

If you need SSL, Perl, Mailserver, FTPserver and MySQLAdministrator bundled with WAMP, then go XAMPP.

If you need to easily switch configurations and extensions, go WampServer.

If you need none of that, download Apache, PHP and MySQL yourself and install them(they all have installer packages).

I'd highly suggest this route, as you will gain in-depth knowledge on how to configure and operate these applications.

My personal preference is WampServer:

I've always used it as my local WAMP solution, and haven't ever had a problem I couldn't fix.

@Spudinski, Thank you for the advce, XAMPP sounds a better deal overall I'd NOW say.

Go with install of apache,mysql (or better mariadb for example) and php. Much better in my opinion and gives you more control on what is installed and configured.
