  1. This is GRPG not MCCODE
  2. To me, and this is only my opinion, however, this looks like a complete scam, using bits of code put together from the hundreds of nulled scripts out there
  3. MCCode (more often pirated than not) is the most common for people to download and try to learn from GRPG is probably more often used for actually making a game, most people I know of starting games play the likes of MD/MC/TMU, etc, and GRPG is more like these than MCCode I always liked GRPG for its simplicity, if there's one thing I hate, it is unnecessary overcomplicating of code! GRPG is for the most part, simple and with a bit of work can be quite effective with bare minimum server load. It's obviously pretty much completely redundant at this point though with mysql and many other functions being binned
  4. Lawl, MWG does attract a lot of idiots
  5. I thought using timestamps and such had been common practice since like the beginning of time? (or at least the past 5-6 years since I started playing with php :P)
  6. how did you get access to his cpanel?
  7. I know of a few that use GRPG, very loosely though, anyone that has any idea what they are doing probably has it heavily modified to the extent that mods written for GRPG probably won't work lol It would be nice to see some more GRPG stuff here though, in my opinion the base script is alot more adaptable than MCCODE, and is the sort of game that players find more appealing, albiet with pretty much nil security to start with
  8. I'll fix your img tag vulnerabilities for 1 millio...... no, 1 billion dollars!
  9. Can you just use game screenshots for page backgrounds like this? Granted, it's commonplace to use google images to find item images for games but they wouldn't belong to big companies, trademarks etc It does however look quite good, although very compact in leaving about 75% of the screen blank. I'm sure it will look very nice when it's finished
  10. The "It's 6:54 pm in Midtown Detroit......blahblah" thing on the login page seems somewhere similar to what is on http://mobslife.com/login.php, and by somewhat similar, I mean exactly the same I think you're just trolling everyone here to be honest
  11. spheader.php? I have never noticed it and I don't have it in my copy, I thought most stuff was done via control.php, unless this spheader is from a different/clone/nulled script. It's actually not the most useful of pages anyway, you're better off writing your own, especially if you have improved the staff rank system or item system

    Hackers

Shouldn't be a catastrophic problem, you done your homework, encrypted passwords, take backups regularly and are ready to march on... right?

    Help!!!!

You mean he's not the dude working with you on silent?

    Help!!!!

You really shouldn't be running that game you're running
  15. What are you talking about?
  16. Cloud hosting I suppose is slightly different. But if you go to the mainstream hosts such as hostgator, fasthosts.co.uk, etc, they will just take your money, add you into an overcrowded server, give you a cpanel login and away you go. That way, regular page load time is going to be poor, queries might fail, especially when crons run and no one is going to think it's worth playing!
  17. A free host is not going to cut the mustard if you are serious about a game, and aspire to have an active player base A paid, shared host is also not going to be ideal in the long run, queries will start to fail due to shared lag, crons will drive the server load crazy and I would say unless the host doesn't mind 'overselling' they will ask you to host elsewhere To me if you don't have the basic knowledge or are at least prepared to follow simple guides to set up a vps/dedi to run a game properly, you won't get very far All the configuration needed to set up a VPS ready to host a game is to install nginx (or apache if you're that way inclined), php, mysql (and crontab if you are daft enough to use mccode), 4 simple commands. By all means, use a free/shared host to build a script but in this day and age a VPS can come at the same price as shared hosting and an entry level vps with even 512mb ram and a single core will be sufficient until the players and donations come rolling in. Hosting should be the first thing donations go back into, not the latest call of duty game which seems to be the main reason people set up half assed games using 000webhost, a nulled script and free mods from this forum   Same as above, free & shared hosting is fine for building and testing a script but is far from ideal for anyone serious about running a game. After a few players come in and donate, there is plenty of money to use on a private server
  18. Lol, a plausible explanation
  19. All I meant with my original post was that it seems to have been intended simply to notify users of new announcements, not necessarily how many, in which case however, [new] would have been more appropriate than [1], but there's no point in crying over spilt milk No need to get so worked up about it, it's frightfully ungentlemanly
  20. Quite interested to see this, send me a PM when you opened up if you would
  21. Don't ask me how they do it, I've had a VPS with them for 4 months or so now and had 0 problems
  22. Support I have had absolutely no issue with, it's ticket based and they also use twitter, I've made 3 tickets, each answered within an hour, the latest one I asked if it was possible to have the VPS moved from NY to Amsterdam, they said yes not a problem, asked me to confirm the move and it was done there and then. Not sure about the datacenters to be honest, but from what I gather it's their own hardware
  23. I just rent a VPS, I have nothing to do with the company. I'm just letting the forum know they are there     Logged in via putty, according to cat /proc/cpuinfo, it's running 3x "Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 0 @ 2.00GHz" The spec available on their main site, iniz.com is much lower than what's on openvz.io, but the machines seem to all be formed in the same nodes, etc but with more CPU/RAM to play with
  24. Keep your hair on friend
  25. Still going to be notified of the new announcement(s), like I said, Announcements [new] or [##] is probably more appropriate than Announcements [1], but there is nothing wrong with the logic
