  1. yes, that didn't came too. I can say that we got: - Users - Forums (but not the relations between them) - Threads - Posts - Somehow the private messages And that's it. Even attachment didn't imported inside the thread. But it's a lot better than nothing in my opinion.
  2. You can simply go on the thread and click the "Subscribe thread" in the "thread tool" on top.
  3. Yes there is something similar: by subscribing a thread, you can directly be informed when there is a new post (via email or only via the a message when you are on the site or other options). All threads you subscribed are then listed in the page http://makewebgames.io/subscription.php which can be found on "Quick Links" => "Subscribed thread". It acts as a bookmark as well... However we wasn't able to import from the old forum software the bookmarked one.
  4. Well I see your point but I doubt we can simply show all the articles there. So either we remove the sections and it's all flat (possible but I believe annoying), or we may think about other solutions but I don't really see it yet.
  5. I don't fully understand what you mean Diesl... What do you want exactly?
  6. Yes private messages didn't imported well, can't say much more as I don't understand what went wrong.
  7. Well, I believe we discussed it with the community, I don't remember if we made a poll or not, I could check, however I doubt we would get any real answer. Even between staff members we didn't agree on the soft or what we should do (beside most of us did agree the old install wasn't ok anymore). What I can say is that hosting the old site was really difficult (CB had to move it from a dedi it was sharing with McCode and MWG to some other host, then migrate again to a special VPS just for it) and expensive. So having a solution for the soft was starting to be mandatory. Now ANY change is always badly taken by some people, like the switch from XP to Vista or 7, or even color schemes changes. For those I cannot do much beside saying I'm open to any constructive critic and if I can tweak the settings for it I'm willing to do so. What I'm not willing to do is to edit VB code or to go back
  8. Everyone is now allowed to have his personal blogs directly inside Make Web Games. Subject can be any, from devel to rantles as long as it is still acceptable (no harassment, no illegal behaviour). You could talk about your cat, dog or gold fish, or go more concrete about your latest 4D FPS Realtime super duper game you are developing. Feel free to share your thoughts and rantles, makes us laugh or cry... whatever! Why post blogs? Because it's fun, it helps to cleanup your mind, and can be useful to others... and of course advertise yourself too ;)
  9. - PHP code needs the [ ] BB code... if used then it works. - Avatars can be still used, simply require to be re-uploaded. - I never liked the old portal and we have the idea to build a resource library in the front (with tutorials, comparisons and more). - This editor doesn't seems worse that the previous one... to me at least.
  10. There is an app for iphone for VBulletin as well as a special style for smart phones / tablets. If needed we can install the style.
  11. well question of taste ;) I personally don't like it. But it will be really hard to please all. What we can do is to install more styles and let you choose the one you like more.
  12. Added the "Rep Power" which is like a score based on the number of posts, days online etc...
  13. I had a similar issue, and I had to select them from a list (where there where no subject) and delete them. If it still doesn't work let me know I will clean it up for you tomorrow or later on today.
  14. Well I never really liked the old portal. The new home should offer more, from the latest threads to articles which are basically tutorials or more which will be kept and not simply used as a thread.
  15. What do you think about the new forum software? Share your thought!
  16. I will check the sorting
  17. You have to first detect such sql injections, then if you detect one it's matter of changing some player attributes... which honestly I have no clues of as I never worked with McCode
  18. Not all is perfect yet as we still need to work on some pieces, specially the "home page" which is nearly empty so far. However we will slowly or not so slowly work on it, for example I just added back the chat integration!
  19. - signature messages are now in. - private messages seems to be ok to me... - no clues for notifications as for me it was again ok.... beside the huge number of them.
  20. Well honestly I didn't wanted to spend days trying layouts. I thought it was A LOT more important to have the functionality ready instead of just a look ;)
  21. All ugly? Odd, I find it cleaner than WBB, and it offers certainly more tools than the old one.
  22. I would suggest that if you choose the English language, you would get ALL content in English not only some...
  23. I used lunarpages too but honestly I would not recommend them anymore. As soon as you have any kind of traffic (not saying big sites) they say you are consuming too much for a shared host (and they sell unlimited right?). So certainly this site is all money lost. I suggest to use your own PC for the development with XAMPP / WAMPP or equivalent, and then go for some better host like for example: http://www.w3theory.com/
  24. Redux can be better and is certainly better than 2.0 .x however it doesn't provide a unique game for sure. That's valid for any engine btw ;) So you will have to invest A LOT of time to make your game a good game. No way to avoid that.
  25. 3 coders and 4 artists? And you do what? Bring the story? Who manage this team (which is not small), who does the split of the work, who think about the design of the "framework" or any other code? And are you sure the project is so complex that it requires so many volunteers? If yes how do you expect to pay them, you say shares, but a 90% of 0$ is still 0... Do you have any previous work to show what you are capable of yourself? Don't take those questions badly, but it will be easier to recruit people or at least talented people if you are able to show that you can contribute in a useful way too, and to explain more in details how your offer differs from the thousand others of "I wanna a web game too".
