  1. The spirit: Just use google, as it depends where you live ;) But you usually find little shops or others which are more than willing to create a system for you.
  2. true, but in this case it changes nothing.
  3. Thank you for submitting your solution, we've hidden it so other people can't just copy :)
  4. Well if you don't agree, then please explain me. I'm not stubborn, simply I don't believe there is a single "right" solution for most problems. Some time a solution is more adapted for one thing than another.
  5. Sorry I could not agree less. Using tables is not un-professional, and by far. Simply as any thing tables should not be abused. So when you come to a layout with tables which use 3-4 or even more nested tables to get then maybe you should check if you can't solve it differently. Now with CSS and DIV it's not given you can get proper resizing layout with less markup (between HTML and CSS) and make it work across browsers. So, at the end of the day, it pretty much depends what you want to do. Same thing for XHTML, is it really that much better than the "normal" HTML? Not sure ;) Finally what counts is: - Make it work and look good with most popular browsers. - Don't oversize your code (such that the page still load quickly) - And if possible make the HTML / CSS readable by a human. But the first one if certainly the most important one with the second coming next.
  6. Well I personally don't like at all the language syntax of JS, like variables which can be either global or not and mix one with the other, or class which are nothing else than functions etc. Honestly it's a messy language.
  7. jquery is not a language... it's a library for javascript. Also there is no absolutely best language as some will do something others with do other things. A good example is Javascript, you will use it exclusively inside the browser but you don't have much alternative either. Check this link: http://makewebgames.io/content.php/126-Object-Oriented-Programming-the-way-to-go I tried to resume that some time ago. BTW your pool contains also AJAX (which is a technology) so it's a bit of a... useless. Therefore I edited it, and removed jquery, ajax and mysql which are not languages.
  8. Gasp... at least people will remember your site. I must say the color scheme hurt my eyes. But well done for a start.
  9. Me doesn't want to go on facebook. But good luck for your game ;)
  10. Yep I sadly had to remove some of his posts as well as I was a bad guy as I stated that his game lacks of story... My fault... Mea culpa
  11. 150 GBP to tranform a PSD to a static HTML (XHTML) page? That seems excessive... Now if you say you do the PSD as well then maybe.
  12. no you can't ban simply somebody by IP because he can use a proxy an join back... Simply ignore the kids and they will get tired (talked in plural when it is actually all 1 guy which didn't like the be punished)
  13. Again it's plainly just his personal war. However this script is not really bad, specially because it's free. Yet the demo I tried didn't really impressed me specially as it didn't worked on it IE. On the other side I quiet like the smooth movement even if in practice it's extremly annoying to play due to its slowness.
  14. He want to promot something else than those I could have written ;) It's like a personal war. let it be... If he has little else to do, I do have other things myself.
  15. No the mac address will return always the one of your router not the one of the user. That doesn't work.
  16. not really... first of all you can spoof a user agent, second I could use 2 different browser one at work and 1 at home...
  17. Ok, clearly I shall close this thread and issue a warning. Last time you insult people (me or any other) on this site, and I strongly suggest to show more respect to others. Also, nope sorry didn't used their engine... if you would have tried both game you would have noticed it doesn't work the same way (which btw this open source engine doesn't work on IE 9).
  18. I doubt you checked my game if you think that my game is the same as any other with the same kind of engine. First of all because my game use my engine and not an engine made by someone else. Second because I do have some tutorial and do have stories. Odd enough I'm in this field since nearly 6 years so I do know what I'm talking about. Now, saying your game looks like the other because it's just the type of game which want that, sorry then why should people play yours and not others where there is already more players? If you want to attract and even more keep players on board your game must be as good if not better than many others. My comments as been given to explain what I didn't like in your game, and not to reduce your post but to show where you could improve. As I already said, if you are not ready to accept negative comments (being constructive) you should not ask for comments. To come back to your first sentence, yes web games should be as simple as possible, and being played just a couple of minutes from anywhere. Yet exactly for that you need to explain to the new players how your game work and not expect that they already know or are even wanting to spend 30 min to understand what each link does. If you expect to attract only people knowing this kind of game then again, I doubt yours have anything so special which could keep old timers of mafia games glued. For me, it would mean it's time for you to go back to the drawing board and decide what to do with your game, think about it in term of game and not just code.
  19. Non sense, if you use any cookie to identify somebody you already have a single login from this user / computer / browser. Yet you cannot prevent that the player uses more than one browser which means can be logged in multiple times. So quiet useless overall...
  20. Again I strongly suggest you to change attitude if you want to stay on this site. Finished or not means little, we are all game developers here yet I continue to believe you should start with a concept instead with a pure code. And guess what? It's exactly what any professional write / developer will always say, so maybe I'm not completly mad. Also, YOU asked for feedback not us, so accept the feedback we give or next time simply don't ask for any feedback.
  21. - Captcha are barely redable. - Giving an email to test? No thanks So I can't give you much more feedback as I didn't wanted to go futher.
  22. Ok, first of all cool down, you asked for review and people made so. So don't start insulting others. Second, a tutorial and a STORY makes the whole difference. Sorry but a game which purpose is random clicking (as most McCode games are sorry) is not a game. Also creating custom mods is certainly a good start but you should first think about a concept / goal for your game, and honestly I didn't saw those in your game. One last thing, don't post 20 reply one after the other, instead post one big reply... btw I had to clean all your "nice" answers...
  23. Which means you will have an illegal copy of windows... congratulations...
  24. As said, I don't trust ebay sales, specially if something doesn't work well. Forget about all the rating and such. The graphic card should do the trick but no OS, so add about 150 GBP for windows (not sure about the price).
  25. I would not buy such thing on ebay... Find some cheap custom build on internet or build yourself your own PC and be happier. For example this PC doesn't come with Windows... So forget about gaming until you buy windows and install it yourself (BTW buying a windows copy without a PC cost about the double).
