  1. My bad, just making sure! :p
  2. I'm sure this was discussed, and Kyle did lock the thread, so unless something has changed I don't see why a new thread has been created?
  3. I think you've misunderstood the thread, I meant in-game inflation, so people having lots of in-game currency or people not having that much.
  4. Most games (I've played) are turn based and this isn't. :)   bought* Also why not stop is so you can't buy 0, so it gives you an error.
  5. Script47

    curl help

I know this is a bit off topic, but you seem to be using MRES, now don't you think you should start using MySQLi or PDO seeing as MySQL is insecure and deprecated.
  6. Didn't know where to put this but it should be can't* and until*.
  7. It looks very very good, not going to lie. I like it a lot. I specifically like the complete real time game play. :)
  8. I must say, Samurai, the game is shaping up to be very good looking. See what we meant by at beginning? I can see people playing this compared to the bog standard default MCC game which you opened at the start! Excellent job by Zet and Blade, I really like the template! :)
  9. 'S called pointless spam...
  10. Can staff please remove this... Pointless spam.
  11. That is an insane amount of money for 6 months only, I'm English and I thought I would convert to GBP and it's £47249.02 which is crazy money for 6 months!
  12. Clean. Simple. Effective. Good job mate! :)
  13. Out of curiosity, do you have a day job or do just run the games and that is the source of your main income? As things like these are interesting as some people try hard yet they can't have that break in their game and others, it just comes naturally.
  14. So today I was reading over some old thread (which were created around 2/3 years ago), and was seeing how active the community was then and how new developers were coming. Now since console gaming and PC gaming has improved, the text based gaming market has lost a lot of interest. So I was wondering how long do you guys think that text based games will last? Clearly the amount of people playing them has decreased a lot. Do you think eventually there will be a time where people will drop it completely and just make sites for eCommerce or social networking and not gaming? I just thought this would be an interesting topic to talk about. Personally I feel that the TBG market is shrinking, and to succeed, you have to invest so much in to a game to make it unique and worthwhile otherwise you won't get players. From what I've seen most owners don't want to invest that time or effort. They feel that the game will be a big hit without any work on it, so in its default state. They will release the game and then will just wait for players to roll in, which won't happen. Preparations have to be made to release a game, so you have to check security flaws, make sure the game cannot be exploited, you need to make sure the game has the right balance, for example if it's so easy to reach a very high level what do players do then? If they don't have things to do, they will obviously stop playing. You always have to be adding new features, maintaining existing features ensuring they work as intended. I also think that having so many bad experiences has people from playing TBG, so people paying money and not receiving in-game items, or the constant erasing of players data so they have to start again. This does not only affect players, but developers too. Obviously the above is my opinion and I could go on all day, but this is what I think.
  15. Once you register, have a redirection to the login page to make it easier. A brief logout script so we can logout and see the main page if need be.
  16. If you want a good design, you might want to up your budget.
  17. I think we could look at it two ways, if a game has so easy for players to get money, people who are lazy might pay it more as it's not so hard, however players who want a challenge won't play and vice versa. But yes like you said, to find the balance is quite hard.
  18. Could a staff member delete this thread?
  19. How do you guys run your games? So what's the cash flow like, does each player have loads of is it harder to get cash?
  20. o.O This is genuine news to me! :D
  21. Since when did people start using bots in text based games?
  22. Is there any plans for GRPG's future? So any new version etc?
  23. My mistake I didn't read the thread title.
  24. If you are new to coding then listen to other people.   According to Chrome, your site doesn't exist. Also the posters on this thread have made a lot more.
  25. Ah yes, sorry I misunderstood what you mean't. Good mod. :)   Great idea!
