    Guest.....

Hahaha, yeah I was going to say, not very good! :D
  2. Could you show what the options are as that may help?
  3. Read what I said, how do you know people will donate?   No, just no... People aren't going help someone code a full game on the assurances that players may donate. I don't see why you even bothered writing this post. It's like the most pointless post. What's wrong with asking questions? People are making sure there is a point investing time and effort. Why don't you sign up to help him if you're going to write things like this? If we want our hands in our pockets then how did the mods section get so big? I guess someone else has been coding them. Kyle has been making mods for ages and he's made some quality ones and he's helped me out, so has !Angel. As have a lot of people on this forum. So don't say that if you don't know. Maybe you haven't been given help because you haven't asked properly but it doesn't mean people don't help on these forums. Asking someone to code a full game isn't like asking them to make mods. So please, if you're going to make a post, think before you do. There is a handful of people who expect everything done for them because they ask, get real, people can't do everything you ask if you're not going to put any effort in.
  4. Wrong section, and none of the links except the Login & Register work. Not really the best.
  5. Thanks for the in-depth reply, and that tutsplus link was really helpful, just skimmed through, will hopefully go through it all soon. :)
  6. Exactly, if they based it of the local storage code then I would surely use cookies, but oh well.
  7. Do you have any evidence or assurances that people WILL donate? Or are you just assuming they will?
  8. Also I find it's a lot easier to use than cookies, it's lot less complicated which is a plus.
  9. Dave's is probably best, but if you aren't going to keep the value for that long, why not look in to HTML5 & JS localstorage?
  10. Ah right, so what stuff should I learn that you think will be useful?
  11. Cut down in his prime, such a tragedy! :p
  12. I can with confidence say that I know what's going on in most PHP scripts that I read now, and I can write things I want. But obviously I have still, a lot to learn, so what things (advanced level) should I learn? If someone could post a list of stuff that I should learn which is needed on a industry level, then I would be very grateful.

    !Angels Web Services

I agree with Dave, I have previously had problems with coding and !Angel helped me quite a bit and he knows what he's doing.
  14. Off topic: Erm, little bit awkward... But !Angel is a guy... :p :D
  15. Ah right I see, thanks for clearing that up Guest.
  16. Not bad, the image could be more clear?
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it a paid mod?
  18. You can still put a app on the market using PhoneGap, they provide a service, I've tried using it for Android and I actually put it on a phone, just not released it on the market. It was really good, personally I would suggest using PhoneGap as it means you don't have to learn another language and it's very simple.
  19. So I've been pondering for a while now and not come to a satisfying conclusion, so I thought ask you guys. As many of you know last year I released Mini Bulletin V1 - which realistically was shoddy and was never going to anything big - now however I am wondering whether I should either make a V2 with more features, and nicer design or move on to a complete new project which I have been thinking of, so a social site per say. So what are your ideas views on this?
  20. You say you don't know enough yet to do anything like I've told you countless times, learn the basics first before you try to make a fully fledged game.   You are trying to run (coding full games and thinking it will be easy) when you should be trying to walk (learning the basics and starting of small), so making basic applications which query the database and display on screen. So a To-Do List application would be a good project once you've got used to the basics of PHP & MySQLi or PDO. If you think you will be able to run a game which is active with no coding experience personally I don't think you will be able to (I'm not saying it's impossible) but It would be hard as players might want other things and you would not be able to code it. What may seems like "hate" that people are writing it's just them being fed up, seeing as you've made like what 2-4 threads with new games listed each time, where people have given the same advice each time. Personally you've helped me raise my post count a lot too. But seriously what people say you should take in to consideration, it will do you some good. As for the attacking new players as soon as they join, well I'll admit I would've have done that too, maybe like a 2 years ago (14) and yes I see why. Because you're in-charge and the best, but if you want players then you will want them to feel as though they are playing a game with a strong structure starting from the top (you, the owner). So grow up and stop fed jailing players because they speak the truth which is what they are doing. If you read this and worked out my age from the paragraph on top and thought what does he know he's still young, well I'd just like to point out, I got to where I am, so I can code things I want because of taking advice and criticism off people. Plus I learned from the scratch it all including CSS which I'm still not fond of yet I still learn because it's important if you want to do good. It took me around 6-8 months to make Mini Bulletin which I would agree is no where near as good as it should be yet, I learn't so much from it but I started making when I knew my stuff and learn't even more as I came to finish it. So work on something and better yourself slowly. This was a rant and quite frankly I need to watch The Musketeers. A couple of questions:   How much coding do you actually know? How long have you been coding? `
  21. Well I was going to suggest using using PhoneGap that way you'll be able to make it exactly how you want with languages you are familiar with and your CSS skills will help loads too as you are very experienced with design. Some things about PhoneGap are explained here. Obviously it's not hard to find some more in-depth articles about it but just a little something I tried when making applications that was very neat. I daresay you will find some very helpful documents & tutorials online but give me a shout if you need any help.
  22. Great idea! Question: Is this game going to be made in JS/jQuery?
  23. Welcome pal and good luck! :)
