  1. The only thing that will work for all users is the events :)
  2. $db->query('UPDATE `users` SET `staffnotes` = "test" WHERE `userid` != '.$userid); Add that to index.php then goto it and see it doesn't edit your staff notes (see them in profile if your staff) but it will edit everyone elses, Don't believe i actually had to explain this in this much detail... worrying sometimes.
  3. Sadly i did test it just to be sure but i do actually know how to code... had afew years experience (5)
  4. no your code updates everyone but the person running it, Eq's version would work perfectly.
  5. 2.0.3 is secure if you have a valid license i suggest you upgrade to the free patch for all v2 license holders...
  6. (adding ajax is a nice touch) @ lockdown convering it wouldn't be so difficult.
  7. well i tab my tabled which makes it easier to look at and debug, i use the same amount of spaces and tabs in every single file i do to determine the genre of something also which makes it so much easier but sadly i still use notepad.exe lmao
  8. I love to tab now it's just so much easier to debug and read later if you have any issues Spacing is well worth the small amount of time putting it in because it saves time on debugging.
  9. EQ and ill give you 5 for your hosting company :D
  10. Ill work for 45 a hour :) Alain Bertrand is rather good look at http://www.nowhere-else.org/ or even NR both are rather impressive i wish i had his job lol
  11. Think that maybe due to them removing all the posting from staff panel karlos
  12. Danny not really when you see crimgame you'll understand why the price would be higher than MC. Mc is 100 bucks but it was 300 when it first came out i would say crimgame would be about the first price range... Considering how much time i would spend on it and it will be secure... plus ill be spending all my time helping with support :)
  13. depends on how much i put into the engine as it would only be a engine but with quite afew extras then we'd be looking more than mc price up 2.0.3 but it wouldn't be pricey it's just due to support and updates + free / paid mods for it. i'd be doing all of it myself so... the price would be good for everyone including myself.
  14. Finally someone with a little thought :D now that is a good idea, i would prefer personally to keep the logs in db and check through them daily or employ someone to check them daily so then you know when they clear weekly that it would be good. Although the file idea isn't such a bad idea to actually base the logs in rather than using sql DB
  15. Great minds dayo, atleast people with a higher IQ than a monkey understand :) It's never about the money it's about the idea. People will not pay to post on a website you don't guarantee a solution to pay only for the solution never for the post and don't allow people to see other peoples posts or solutions quite simple. Like a technical support i guess...
  16. That is a possible solution although where do you store the txt files?
  17. or have a cron which deletes week old logs if they have been checked...
  18. Allow people to signup for free and post problems but not see replies to the problems (being the solution) so they pay each time they wanna see the solution and you hire a staff of however many to resolve them problems. You have categories like PHP, CSS, XHTML, HTML, C#, C++, VB.net, ASP, VB 6.0 and so on and get people who are quite good with them subjects to monitor them and solve the problems. The person who posts the problem gets a email when a monitor solves the solution and posts it (with a link to pay for the solution) IE: 5 bucks to view this solution obviously vary your price depending on the problem. give the monitor the option to ask for more information (for free) and pay the monitor 80% of the solution cost. There is a site to my knowledge which does this for legal questions and makes quite a bit of money. If you don't do it ill do it... won't take me long This is a idea which will make money (i'm just too busy to do it). Don't just stick to stupid categories go into every field you can get people in (win7 help, winxp help, computer basics, cookery, computer hardware installation, fixing hardware, free software tips) and so on
  19. forget that, do a problem solving website and make millions... Or take 5% of the costs on your original idea which then leaves you with 5 dollars out of every hundred although in the first 60 days have it at 20% while they are on a trial basis and you use that money to do ads and keep the site up + a little extra for yourself... simple (ever heard of freelancer.com)
  20. Yep he is the mod king which is why he's the first person for a copy of CG engine when it's done :)
  21. So you employ people who are experts in many fields then they learn people the language or field which the people pay you 20 bucks a hour for... what cut does the person who actually does the work get from that 20 dollars? I like the idea you should maybe also do tech support for x amount per day or post a issue and pay for a reply (free to post but costs for the solution).   Although like i said what's the cut like?
  22. I seldom notice it but i am seldom here, some people have work to do :D
  23. This looks bloody amazing well worth 20 bucks :D
  24. What do GoDaddy use vista panel or something? When you installed MC you should of been promped with cron codes to add into your cronjobs.
  25. I'm sorry but do you not have initiative php.net is a manual... getting the hint?
