I'm actually going to challenge you to point out everything wrong (security wise) with this modification. Right now all of your posts are coming across as someone who is just throwing out random functions he thinks are linked to security, but has no idea why. BTW - please no one else come along and make a list before he answers. I'm trying to make a point to Rockwood...

Can you please start giving your threads more descriptive names. For example - "inventory query help" rather then simply "Help!".

It's not. What he is trying to do with sprintf here is add some kind of check... one you simply don't need and is being done wrong... It's being checked already in any case.

In reference to both posts above I would recommend taking some kind of code sample, and even having a small conversation with the programmer before giving them any kind of status on your site. The problem with having not seen anything is, well yes they could be amazing, they could also not be. I'm sure that's not the case for the both of you, but it's not like a quick test matters. codecanyon for example has someone check every file, they make sure the market isn't flooded with the same type of systems, and have a small Q&A before you can even upload a file (at least they did not sure if it's still there). I disliked some of the rules (for example I can price my own work), but it's definitely worth using as a buyer because you know they have been looked over.

Well I don't deny 3rd party scripts were used (such as the original bbcode file that had it's original copyright in tact, and the JS on the register page that again had an original copyright) where used I have never heard any real proof that it was just a recode from an available source. Of course if it's true the same rules would apply and I would still claim it's not something you can just pass as your own... with more problems since they have been doing so for years. Even if it was it doesn't change the answer to the question. If you take someone else's work and change it you can't just then claim it's yours.

Generally speaking a "recode" would always have something of the original modification, and therefore shouldn't be sold on. Using an idea, and creating your own is a completely different story.

I haven't found it's that big of a problem, but then again I haven't got any real numbers on it. How many people go to sign up, and then stop at the verification (on average)? It's already been said but I wouldn't block every feature for those unverified.

Maybe explain what you mean by alliances as well. Defense pacts, full alliances (including shared vaults and armories?) etc...

The problem is I've seen posts from you offering paid services on things more advanced then a CSS bar. If you weren't offering services people probably wouldn't care.

PM Sniko (or I'm sure he will see this thread) since I've only heard good feedback before now I doubt you will have a problem. Having said that if I'm being honest it does sound like you assumed features would be there when they were never listed (for example selling upgrades). We can't offer any real support since it's not our modification, and it's paid so you can't post it.

Taking an idea is fine, but I also fail to understand people who replicate the exact feature. Sometimes they go so far to make it exactly like torn it makes no sense inside their own game. :p

Could we have some more information, for example are the faction forums bbcode enabled? What is a "faction war" (just attacking other members for x points?)? What can you donate (items money etc...).

You’re assuming someone will come along and bother to look up the way Alan has pointed them, the fact is those who care enough to learn why would have looked it up anyway. Those who don’t will simply copy the two query solution, and well admittedly it’s there problem in the grand scheme of things you “spoon feeding” them makes no difference. All you have done is insulted the few members willing to look it up in the first place by placing them with the “masses” as you see them. Why do you say this whenever I talk to you?
