Well this is a blast from the past, i first joined CE just over 10 years ago in 2009, I joined with the sole purpose to learn PHP. Looking back using McCodes as a start was probably a bad idea lol, but it was a start. I'm now a full time developer @ HeatingSave, We make Heating and Energy Management solutions along with access control systems. I work from my home in Guildford (England). I have also recently restored an old project that i started 5 years ago back when MWG was (semi) active. Ive been working on Gangster Legends v2 for the past 5-6 months adding more and more to the base scripts. Im also helping to develop several games using GL v2 as a base.

Great to see MWG alive again, i owe alot to this community :) Without it i don't think i would be where i am today :)

You can still see the code, https://sourceforge.net/p/d13/code/ci/master/tree/ but i agree github would be alot convenient for most developers

I am building a game with a grid/map based system, i was thinking of porting it over to McCodes and/or other game engines, the output would be something like http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x476/cyderak/ModernStreetsHUGE.jpg. It could come with pre-built city's or you can make custom ones. As this could be a lot of work i thought i would get peoples feedback first. Im not even sure if there is still a market for Web Game mods anymore. (Existing map maker can be found here https://thebattlefield.co.uk/modules/gameMap/map.html)

Looks good so far, one thing i would say though, it would be better drawing the tiles etc in canvas/svg. I have done something similar at https://thebattlefield.co.uk/modules/gameMap/map.html granted i still need to work on getting it working on mobile with touch gestures but gives you an idea.

After playing 5 minutes i had 1.7m, maybe reduce the amount of money from crimes as well as the durations. i.e. the bellow is a bit much as im stealing from kids

You successfully commited the crime. You receive €21,895 for the crime

Also ive yet to fail a GTA, is this correct?- 1 reply

Current game is Overwatch/Shell Shock Live, before that was Star Wars Battlefront/Battlefield 4

I really like mine, at idle it keeps the CPU at 30 degrees and that is with a 0.6ghz OC. As for installing they are just as easy as installing a air cooler, as long as you follow the instructions

I have been working on a map maker for a game that myself and a mate are working on, just wanted to get some feedback on it, it's written in JavaScript and HTML using canvas. Please note this won't work on mobiles (at this time support will be coming soon) and is 9.6MB to load as I still have to optimize the images. Feel free to look and comment at the source code anywhere I can improve I will. Link: https://thebattlefield.co.uk/modules/map/map.html Features: Ability to zoom in/out using mouse wheel You can pan the map by clicking and dragging 4 ground tiles with transitions between them Multiple buildings/Items You can save your map (will download the JSON file) You can load a saved map
-
I am working on a project with a work colleague I am currently working on the map/movement system I'm looking for some buildings to be drawn from a birds-eye view See attached screenshots of what I have so far. Eventually, all of the tiles will be re-designed as I'm using an open source tileset at the moment and i don't like the style of the grass texture

What sort of map system are you looking for? Ive been making a tile map maker/viewer. I spent a long while looking for a pre-built system and couldn't find a decent one so spent the day coding a new one. I may release it open source but that wont be for another month or so. I added an example of the map zoomed into 256x256px per tile, you can zoom out to 16x16px, im waiting on my GFX designer to make more assets.

seriously your both making a generic zombie game that will most likely have ideas based on/around the walking dead/resident evil/dayz, just because you are using "similar" background images does not mean he/she is ripping off your whole site. From the looks of his screenshot he is making a generic mccodes type game so unless you do the same its gonna be two different games. p.s. your domain http://zombieplague.ga is not working, and FYI you have already made a post detailing your ideas (or some of them) its in your signature

flixbeat just because you are both using zombies as a game theme and a black and white city skyline does not mean he is ripping your game off. Other then those i see no similarities

the best way to do this is to insert the timestamp and the time to wait into the database i.e. $sql = "UPDATE users SET attackTimer = " . (time() + 60) . " WHERE id = " . $id; // stop the user attacking for 60 seconds // then you have to check if the user can attack by something like this if ($user["attackTimer"] > time()) { echo "you cant attack for another" . ($user["attackTimer"] - time()) . " seconds!"; exit; } //Javascript code for the browser var time = ajaxRequest.result.timestamp; setInterval(function () { $(".attack-timer").text((time - Math.round(new Date() / 1000)) + " Seconds"); }, 1000);

what was your IP/Domain name i can see if there are any ports open

This has been fixed now was a different application i was developing that had that issue so that's why i thought it was already done :P
