  1. Arg. My laptop mouse like broke on me last night. So todau i am taking it back to pawn shop so they can fix it. I ony jad the damn thong for only 10 days. So since i have no comp to code, i will be writing in my notebook for a showcase game to show people the power of orpg creator

I pulled out a notebook yesterday for "oRPG Creator" due to finding so many things on the games it creates, I wanted to change and was making a list as I came across things. Here's what I did yesterday: - On every game page, it said "Welcome", I removed I - I fixed game homepages to display introduction and 1 news article - I made all game news public on site by default for SE purposes and made the page look nicer. - I made all game forums public on site by default for SE purposes. Had to modify the forum code a tad bit to remove "Reply/New Topic" buttons for guest. Also had to remove the showing of "del" to "non-admins/mods" - Cleaned dev/support forum member database (everyone that had 0 posts is GONE). Went from over 500+ members to 50 ;]. lols - Played around deving with Facebook suff for a minute for future features. As for today, I am thinking more minor fixes/tweaks. I would also like to release the metro game design as well. But first I need some game content to make screen shot's for the designs and turn them into an animated gif so peeps can see what template they would like to choose from. I also may start on this: Ability of the game creator to disable functions he/she won't need. ( I suggest creating non-essential features as plugins. For example, the gym. Not all games need that bit.) (It was a request by PM and think its one of the better ideas ive received)

  5. I finished the update last night, but I didn't release it. I released it this morning. As for today, I spent last few hours advertising the oRPG Creator update. I think I am going to take the day off from deving unles I get any bug reports. I will just do some research on posting using facebook API. ;-)

  8. I didn't release my update or start the T.O.S yesterday. I am hoping to release the Update today, but I didn't finish everything else on my list. I ran into some coding problems yesterday due to not touching my work in over 4months or so. The plug-in system itself is easily enough to create new features, but edting the core was a little more difficult (even though it was a simple fix). When logging in registering, activating, logging out, it would take user off the sub directory to main url. ;\   So today's Goal is to release this update, then dispatch this mass email to previous game-owners (around 1,300)
  9. I seen this post on another forum and thing's like this motivates me/others so lets get the ball rolling. Post what you did yesterday and what you plan on doing today. THe majority of my news will be related to http://www.orpgcreator.com Yesterday was the first time I touched any code in over 4-5months so it took me a little bit longer to synch the topics on the news.php page then I thought it would, but I must say it look's 100x better then it did. Furthermore; now I don't have to worry about updating the main site as frequently (last time the http://www.orpgcreator.com/news.php page was updated was over a year ago because I kept forgetting. Now the main site has more content. I didn't replace the image's on the homepage as I was getting to tired to release the update last night so I didn't want to falsely advertise the service for a day. Furthermore; I update various facebook URL"s as they update fan page url's and fixed a few minor typo's. SO TODAY I am trying to do this: - Create some new images for rotating screen shots on homepage of oRPG Creator - Trying to come up with T.O.S for oRPG Creator as there is none now (if you have any ideas plz PM me (lets not use this thread ) - Create Newsletter - Release update - Wipe Database (except forum data (will clean this data at a later time))

  11. The site/forum is back up. Click link in signature to test the current services and provide feedback or register on our forums.   I was on another forum and seen an idea about a "TO DO List" before launching games on the portal to make sure they have content. I believe this is a very great idea. So this is my highest priority!! For those that do not know, what you see on your game on hehrpg.com/game/ is not apart of the update. The update can be seen at http://www.urpg.net . Once I Finish the "To Do List" feature list meaning listing everything that will be on the actual "To Do List" I will send out a mass nice looking email explaining to all current owners what the next step of "oRPG Creator" will be which in a nutshell is a below and telling them if they do not login within the next week, there current game/and account will deleted. Once I have the "To Do List" List complete. I will begin implementing it on the "urpg.net" ACP side. Just because a game can't be published without the entire "To Do List" being completed does not mean the game can not be accessed. Furthermore; once this feature is complete, I will then transfer the update for everyone to use for game owners to start developing there games and get familiar with the new system. Finally, once the new system is launched, I will begin fixing any bug's that are found/adding new features instantly instead of releasing super large updates at one time like I am with this update as well as releasing new choosable game templates and fix the SEO problems with the game pages so games could possibly get more traffic.

Its a mock-up of this page with a few differences: http://www.statfa.net/my-account/ I would like just about everything from the redish bar part up to follow the page down as I'll be using some jQuery to replace the content on headers of other content pages just as if the white menu and up stays the same. and just about everything else can stay the same. I don't need no login/register links or cart thing at top. I would like my social icon's on the right and a subscription box where the social icon's currently are.   Furthermore; for content, I don't need a form, its going to be text, but I used this page to show that I would like to have some sort of box with the information that is going to be displayed to the end-user. The red bar I would like black with a blueish boarder. Job is fairly simple. PM me your quotes and samples. All I need is one page designed/coded.

    mafia games

    I believe the hardest part of creating such a player base for one of these game's is to keep a player active in the story-plot. (not so much the RPG mechanics of the game).   But I suppose the work-a-round is to still allow the old school mechanics of the game as well, but sort of force to user to accidently to complete missions/quests/crimes that relate to the story?   The reason I am asking such things is because I was discussing the creation concepts that you was talking about on another web game dev forum seeking feedback and just started pushing the development of it and kicking money out for it. (designs/art)

  19. Hopefully I'll be able to find some investor(s) to help speed some things up so I can have art created faster once I am in need of it or it will take many months to be released once all coding is done. (lol)
  20. Of course ALL mafia games will the same score structure of doing crimes, attacking players as its the genre. The difference will be how the game is played. I am dying as the coding will take less then a month, but for a decent amount of art/content to launch, it will take me A LOT longer (maybe a year).
  21. You choose your Character which will have a different story from the rest of the characters. There will be Citys/Towns with different locations in each City/Town like pawn shop, corner store, casino, arcade. You can travel to each location and citys once they have become unlocked. You will run into someone who will assign missions like go "Go Kill blah in City/Town blah"). YOu can also do other crimes while doing these missions/quests. Different locations are only allowed to have certain crimes. Some NPC's will have interactive dialogues to explain the story better. It will sort of be like GTA but text. There will also be different character classes such as hustler, enforcer, robber which will give a skill bonus to a certain area.. The main way most missions/quests will be done is threw the cell phone. Your receive an incoming call and you can answer it or not and if you answer it, then your receive some text or image with the conversation then your have different responses (interactive dialogue). You will be able to set up these quests/missions from different characters that after x amount of time from completing the quest/mission from a NPC, your phone will ring again from them with a new mission/quest. I am also thinking of having some sort of "Carreer Paths" such as drug dealer, where you can randomly run into junkies that hit your phone and you have to go meet them to deliver the product. These will be like ongoing quests from certain NPC's that will be ringing your phone for things over a period of times. I am also trying to figure out a way for set ups to take place and or sting operations. Like you meet a random guy and start doing business with him and its a undercover and eventualy you get busted. I am thinking of even have the junkies when calling saying stuff like i got a "TV" i'll trade for x amount of product and you can decide whether or not you will do it. Quest/SIde quest will take place after one is finished, me/or a staff member will be able to set up virtual game time when it takes places or do it randomly like 15 or 30 mins virtual time.

So here's a few questions: When should the referral be "approved" How would you consider the "Player Active" Here's what I am thinking, a player must perform so many actions a day x times a week. How many weeks or should it be 1 week for the player to be considered active as refferall. I would say "one" since its like a sign up referall, but if the player stays active for like a month+, then the person/site getting the referral should receive some sort of bonus for sending that player.

I am creating a new type of Browser Mafia game where you can travel to different locations via image maps and are assigned missions that need to be completed by traveling places and performing certain tasks instead of just clicking a link or button and having a crime completed. The game is going to be like GTA but in text. My problem is that I am incapable of following a story I created or even creating one that makes sense. So I am in need of someone who is capable of sticking to a plot and creating missions and what needs to be done in order for them to be completed. I will be doing all the programming, paying for all the art that is required, supplying the design. Basicly taking care of everything for the game besides the story and plot.
