gamble Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 For those of you have released a game, what did you find helped most to reach new players? So far my thoughts would be: Voting Websites On this topic too, is there a list anyone has of voting sites? Advertising Meta Ads, Google Ads, etc What other options have you explored to help your game grow? 1 Quote
CrazyElk Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Good SEO to encourage organic traffic ... search engines eat that stuff up and the more organic traffic you have they more they promote you in the SERPS. Quote
joaomorais Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) Organic traffic through search engines didn't brought any new players to Cosmo Crafter. I'd say, that in our case, our sources of players have been the following: 70% of players came from cold email marketing (we targeted university students, and other game enthusiasts); 15% of players came from Kickstarter; 5% of players came from Social Media (Instagram); 3% of players came from a collection of Flyers that were distributed locally; 7% of players came from other sources, like direct sharing, fellow MakeWebGames members, LinkedIn posts (on my personal account), and other. The truth is we haven't yet advertised on social media platforms (and/or Google). We're now reaching the stage where we will be introducing Starpasses to our game, and we will feel that our investment towards ads and other paid campaigns might be better spent once we do. Once I have some metrics for you, I'll be happy to share. Meanwhile, I also look forward to hear what others have to say on this. Good luck @gamble. How does one do this as in where di you go to do, yes I could google it but you seemed to have hit a good percentage: 70% of players came from cold email marketing (we targeted university students, and other game enthusiasts); Quote

Its not hard to envisage someone who knows nothing about this type of marketing/advertising to get that reach. What I'm asking is the sites that actually deliver email lists for this email marketing. I mean you have so many out there giving you rubbish (inaccurate and made up) and its hard to know which are the good ones. Are we here to help each other or laugh at someone who asks a question?
